Ocean Commotion

This is our project from Friday (I took a nap Friday instead of getting on the computer so I am a little bit behind). We wrapped up our Ocean themed week by creating our very own ocean, here's how...1. Gather all your supplies - White cardstock, colored construction paper, blue paint, cling wrap, paper muffin liner, tissue paper, fish templates (or you can make your own), crayons, scissors, and glue.2. Aubrey colored her fish while I got everything else ready. Take your white card stock and … [Continue reading...]

Little Mermaid

Today our craft was inspired by Amanda at Funny Days with Mommy and Maddie. I saw this on her blog on Monday and couldn't wait to try it out with Aubrey. It fits in perfect with our Ocean them this week and Aubrey loves the movie "The Little Mermaid".1. We gathered our materials : Mermaid template from here, scraps of tissue paper, embellishments, hair (leftover Easter egg grass), glue, scissors, flower punch and blue background paper.2. Next we punched out flowers for her top and glued them … [Continue reading...]

Ollie the Octopus

Aubrey really enjoyed the octopus we had for lunch yesterday so I decided to make that today's craft project.First we gathered our supplies, construction paper, an octopus template from teacher book, watercolors, scissors and glue. (sorry didn't take a picture of this)Then Aubrey painted the Octopus while we talked about where they live, how many arms they have and what they eat.Next while the paint was drying we curled the arms for the Octopus. I gave her a pencil to wrap the construction … [Continue reading...]

Under the Sea

Mtm %2bunder%2bthe%2bsea

I saw this great blog a while back that featured Muffin Tin Monday and loved the idea. I have done several "muffin tin" meals with Aubrey, but today's was the first I documented. We didn't have anything to eat for lunch today so I had to make a trip to the grocery store with all three kiddos (in the pouring rain) to get something to eat and decided that we would play along with today's muffin tin theme. Here is our version of MTM - Under the Sea...Back Row: "Fishing Rod & Bait" (pretzel rods … [Continue reading...]

Happy Earth Day!

Today we celebrated Earth Day by getting outside to appreciate all the beauty around us and to enjoy the beautiful weather here in TX. We went for a walk and looked for bugs, flowers and birds. We even peeked in on the baby birds that live in our tree up by the front door, Aubrey was thrilled about this (not so sure the mama bird enjoyed her excitement). We also celebrated the earth by making "Dirt Cakes". Aubrey picked out the flowers, helped stir pudding and crush cookies for this yummy … [Continue reading...]

Sweet & Simple

This is my first attempt at sewing clothes for Aubrey. I have sewn all kinds of curtains, crib bedding, pillows, and various craft projects, but I have to admit I was a little nervous about making this dress. My mom convinced me this one would be super easy (she was right). It took me less than an hour from start to finish and I think the end result turned out Sweet. Now I'm hooked! … [Continue reading...]

Easter Candy Galore

After all the Easter egg hunts, Easter basket goodies and over zealous Grandma & Grandpa we had way more candy than any 2 year old should ever have. What to do with all that candy?Even with the candy rationing, I was tired of hearing "Can I crack an egg now?" from Aubrey who just wanted to relish her goodies. I decided I would let her splurge, but we were going to make it a learning lesson so at least I would feel better about giving in. So we gathered up some materials to sort our jelly … [Continue reading...]

Easter 2009

We had a lovely Easter full of fun times and lots of memories. I think the kiddos all looked adorable in their new Easter outfits, if only I could have gotten some good pics. Who would have thought it would have been so hard to find 3 outfits that all coordinated, Grandma Yardley and I looked everywhere and this is finally what we came up with. Notice the subtle hints of pink in Parker and Piper's outfits (it was a stretch I know.)Aubrey & the Twins opened their Easter baskets before we went … [Continue reading...]

Sink or Swim…

The other day we had beautiful weather and I decided to play outside with Aubrey. I had an activity in mind that I had wanted to do with her for a while and this was the perfect day to do it. For this particular activity we were going to play with water and make predictions about what would Sink and what would Float. I love it when we do something that captures her attention and gets her so excited about the process of learning new things. We played this game for a solid hour and she found … [Continue reading...]

3 Little Monkeys…

Jumping in the Bed, 1 fell out and bumped his head. Well that isn't exactly what happened, but almost. One afternoon I went in to get the twins up from their nap and found Parker scaling his bumpers, hanging on to the side and leaning over to see what lie on the other side. When Justin got home that afternoon, the crib got moved down.Aubrey loves to go with me to get the twins up from their naps, she loves to climb on the crib and talk to them. They get so excited to see her and start … [Continue reading...]
