Black and White Buffalo Plaid Farmhouse Christmas Tree

It is the most wonderful time of the year.  It’s the time of year where lights twinkle, ornaments glimmer, and joy is abundant!  For me, it’s also one of my favorite blog posts I write all year and a time where I get to stretch my creativity and deck the halls for the holidays.  This year I’m embracing one of the hottest holiday trends with my Black and White Buffalo Plaid Farmhouse Christmas Tree.

I’ve been obsessed with one of the hottest new trends. black and white buffalo check.  This year I teamed up with Oriental Trading to show you how to decorate your Christmas tree and recreate this modern black and white buffalo plaid farmhouse Christmas tree.

Black & White Buffalo Plaid Farmhouse Christmas Tree

Over the past 5 years, I have been challenged to create a new Christmas tree for my website and brands I partner with.  Every year I wonder if it’s possible to fall in love with the new tree as much as I loved the previous year’s.  And, every year I fall in love all over again!  There is no doubt about it, I am completely smitten with this year’s Black and White Buffalo Plaid Farmhouse Christmas tree!

The key to decorating a beautiful Christmas tree is to start with a theme.  I love the clean, neutral color palette with just a pop of red to bring it all to life.  For this tree, I was inspired to incorporate a farmhouse style with a modern twist, and the black and white buffalo check helps it feel chic and classic all at the same time.

Sometimes finding the perfect ornaments for your tree can be a challenge, especially when you are using a color palette or theme that isn’t readily available in stores.  That’s why I love using products from Oriental Trading, they have a huge variety of DIY options.  I handmade almost every ornament on my tree but, by far my favorite ornament is the simple DIY Buffalo Plaid Embroidery Hoop ornaments. Be sure to check out all of the details on how I made my own DIY Christmas ornaments for this black and white decorated Christmas tree.

Every detail down to the coordinating presents help everything feel festive and seamlessly blend together. If you are going to take the time to carefully handcraft ornaments and decorate a stunning tree, don’t forget about all the presents wrapped under the tree. Growing up my mom always made sure the packages wrapped under the tree matched the color scheme and theme, and it’s one of those things that just stuck.  I love using plain white wrapping paper, coordinating ribbon and ornaments to create pretty packages that are just as show-stopping as the tree it’s self.

I am completely smitten with my modern black and white buffalo plaid Christmas tree and it coordinates perfectly with my Black and White Farmhouse Mantel.  I can’t wait to snuggle up with a hot cup of cocoa and bask in the magical glow of this beautiful view!

Make sure you head over to Oriental Trading to see all of the products I used, as well as the DIY tutorials for the handmade ornaments so you can recreate your own black and white buffalo check Christmas tree.

No - I think if anything, it tends to be the "official" start to the 'giving season' and carries a huge significance as the holiday that has the honor of kicking … [Continue reading...]
