When it comes to Christmas gifting, finding the perfect present for everyone on your list can be challenging. This year, why not skip the guesswork and give Christmas Dough?
Whether you are looking for a gift for your picky teenagers or need a simple gift for teachers, co-workers, or friends this is a fun way to give cash this holiday season.
Fake Cookies, Real Dough Gift Idea
Gingerbread cookies are a holiday staple, but who needs more sweets this time of year? Instead, I “baked” a batch of these fake cookies with the help of my Cricut and added “real dough” to create the perfect gift.
While some may think it lacks the personal touch of a carefully wrapped gift, cash is the ultimate versatile present. It lets the recipient choose something they truly want or need, making it ideal for picky teenagers, practical parents, or anyone saving for something special.
Why You Should Give Cash for Christmas
If your teenagers are anything like mine their Christmas wish lists keep getting longer and more expensive every year. My oldest is graduating from high school this year and will be heading off to college soon, so giving her cash will help her save up for things she will need for her dorm and college experience.
Plus, I put these “cookies” on a super cute baking sheet that she can stock her new kitchen with.
Did you know that giving cash can also help you stay within your budget? Sometimes, we get caught up in finding the perfect gift and end up overspending, so giving cash can be a practical solution.
Gift cards are a popular option as well, but gift cards often get stored away and forgotten about too. Do you know anyone with a stack of gift cards piled up in their dresser or wallet?
How to Make Christmas Dough Money Gift
To make your cash gift feel thoughtful and festive, try creative presentation ideas.
It’s easy to whip out a bunch of these little gingerbread cookies and give cash to everyone on your Christmas list, especially those people who are hard to shop for.
I used my Cricut to cut out a bunch of gingerbread cookie shapes on brown cardstock. I used white vinyl to add the icing details and red vinyl for the perfect little accent.
Next, fold the money and use a glue dot to secure it to the back of the gingerbread cookie.
Now, add a batch of cookies to a festive cookie sheet. Or, add a single cookie to a cellophane bag filled with paper shred.
Use the ribbon to add the free printable tags, which you can download here. I tried to think of clever sayings for all the reasons I would give cash to my teenagers…”for dinner & a show,” “to get you to & fro”, and to “spend & stowe.” Other creative sayings could include “for a cup of joe” or “for a meal to go.”
