School is out for summer! I’m not sure who is more excited about mornings without alarm clocks, me or the kids. I can’t wait for laid-back schedules, summer vacations, and afternoons spent at the pool. So, let’s kick off summer with a citrus-inspired Orange You Glad It’s Summer Party!
For years I’ve been throwing an end-of-school party to celebrate the start of summer. And, one of my most popular summer parties is this Orange You Glad It’s Summer Party I created with my Cricut. When I spotted this cute orange gingham paper at Oriental Trading I knew it would be perfect for an updated repeat of this party theme! While this is such a simple party to execute it’s a big hit and the perfect way to welcome summer.
Citrus-Inspired Summer Party Ideas
Citrus fruits are such an iconic summer staple, so it makes perfect sense to style a party using this star. Plus, I can’t resist a good party pun.
I used oranges as my inspiration, but you could also incorporate lemons and limes for a more colorful soiree.
To start I created a focal point for my treats table. I created an orange balloon garland and used these Leaf Twist Ties from Oriental Trading to create “oranges” on my garland. Balloons are such an easy and inexpensive way to create a big focal point, and I absolutely love how this orange garland turned out.
Next, I used the gingham paper to create a little bit of visual interest behind my dessert table. I simply repurposed the arched panels I used for my daughter’s Boho Birthday party.
Orange Candy Buffet Ideas
Bring the sweet to summer with an easy orange candy buffet. I collected a variety of candy jars and filled them with orange candy from Oriental Trading. From gumballs to taffy there were lots of sweet treats to choose from.
To balance out all the sweet treats I added oranges to a cake stand. I also provided popcorn with custom popcorn boxes. These personalized stickers from Oriental Trading were such an easy way to bring this party theme full circle.
Serve drinks that keep with the orange theme like these special orange sodas.
DIY Orange Favor Boxes Made with Cricut
These little favor boxes are one of my favorite party details! I used my Cricut Maker to create a bunch of these favor boxes for the kids to fill with candy to take home.
If you want to create your own DIY Orange Favor Boxes all you need is colored cardstock and this Free Cricut SVG file.
I told you, it’s that easy to create a citrus-inspired party to kick off summer fun! Whether you are celebrating the last day of school or just looking for an excuse to turn a hot summer afternoon into a party this Orange You Glad It’s Summer party is full of fun ideas that are easy to execute.
