Back to School Breakfast

I really wanted to have a back to school party for our friends, but life got busy and schedules just didn't permit.  After a chat with a friend (thanks Allison) about creating traditions and making a special breakfast the 1st day of school, I decided to do something similar for my kids.(I'm bummed these pictures didn't turn out very well, it was a rainy, cloudy morning and I didn't have time to mess with camera settings...the kids were hungry!)All three of my munchkins started Preschool today … [Read more...]

Tattle Monster

Lately we have been having a big problem with tattling, and it's driving me crazy!  We have been trying very hard to teach the kids about the importance of working together, playing nicely and most important we don't need to know every little "she took my car" or "he won't share with me!" Introducing the newest addition to our family, Murry the Tattle Monster! Pin It Here's how Murry came to be...One of my sister's teacher friends pinned this on Pinterest & I repinned … [Read more...]

Candy Apple Teacher Gifts

I can't believe that all 3 of my kiddos will be going to preschool in 2 weeks!  Aubrey has been "prepping" the twins and telling them all about school and how fun it is.  The twins talk constantly about school although I'm not sure they really know what's in store for them, nor do their teachers! Next Friday we are going to meet the teacher and I always like to take a little something to start the year off right (Ok, it's sort of a bribe!  Secretly I'm petrified that the twins are going … [Read more...]

Thanks for Helping Me Grow {Teacher Gifts}

I am constantly amazed at how wonderful teachers are, at least the ones I know.  Aubrey's teacher are so patient and kind and I've never seem them without a huge smile on their faces.  I adore her preschool and love how they engage the children with creative play, interactive experiments, gardening and cooking. She had her end of the year program and I wanted to say "Thank you" one last time to her amazing teachers.  They have helped her grow and learn so much this year and I wanted to make … [Read more...]

Oreo Apple Treats {Teacher Appreciation}

I saw this idea from The Crafting Chicks on Skip to my Lou and knew it would be the perfect treat to pair with our ABC flowers for teacher appreciation.My mom was trying to find a simple gift she could give to the teachers she works with and asked me to help.  She first suggested I make these super cute apple cupcakes from the new cupcake book she gave me for Easter, but I convinced her these would be a much better idea (ie, less time consuming!) I made lots of these cute little apple Oreo … [Read more...]

ABC Flowers

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I'm very fond of teachers and all of their hard work!  My entire family is in education and I know first hand how hard they work to teach, nurture and inspire young minds.  I love Aubrey's preschool and adore her teachers, so I want to make sure we show them just how much we appreciate them next week.I wanted a non-edible gift for one of the days and thought a simple bouquet of flowers would be perfect.  First, I rounded up some supplies.I bought … [Read more...]

Treats For Our Peeps

I love the fact that Aubrey is in school there are so many fun activities and reason to make darling crafts and treats. Today they had an Easter egg hunt and celebration at school so we made some treats for her "peeps" and teachers.I had very good intentions to do this earlier, but I went to a friends for a Shakeology tasting party and ended up staying to gossip and catch up with girlfriends so I didn't get home until late.  By the time I got started on these I realized the free printable I had … [Read more...]

Aubrey’s Special Day

Today was Aubrey's "Special Day" at school.  At her school they celebrate each child's birthday and the kids are supposed to decorate and bring a poster with fun facts about themselves and they can bring treats to share with the class.  They gave me the poster a few weeks ago and I had plans to decorate it with Aubrey last week thinking that her day was last week, but realized it wasn't until this week, the 19th.  For whatever crazy reason I got it in my head that the 19th was Friday, I was … [Read more...]

1st Day of Preschool

Aubrey had her first day of preschool yesterday and LOVED it!  I wasn't surprised at all that she did so well, she is such a social butterfly and she loves school.  She also had lots of practice this summer because she got to spend special time with her Aunt Bethany up at the school helping her get ready.  She would beg me to go to Aunt Bethany's school everyday and she was definitely in her element in the classroom.But, it was great to see her thrilled about the experience!  On the way home I … [Read more...]
