Our summer is quickly winding down and we are trying to squeeze out every last bit of fun.  Make the rest of summer extra sweet with these easy homemade summer slushies. 

This summer has felt like the longest summer and summer boredom has definitely set in.  With the start of the school year just around the corner and all the uncertainty that is part of that, my kids could definitely use a little summer cheer.  A sweet treat is just what we need to lift our spirits before we say our final goodbye to summer.

Sour Patch Kids are my kid’s favorite candy and they were the perfect inspiration for these easy homemade summer slushies. These are so easy to make and a colorful candy kabob made with Sour Patch Kids makes it an extra fun afternoon treat!

All you need are a few ingredients and a hot summer afternoon to enjoy these sweet summer sips.

You likely already even have everything on hand to make these sweet treats.  And your kids are sure to love them!

How to Make Easy Homemade Summer Slushies

The great thing about making your own homemade slushies is the flavor options are endless.  Inspired by my kid’s favorite Sour Patch Kids flavors we made blue raspberry, orange, lime, and cherry slushies.  

Add colorful paper straws and the candy kabobs for a festive summer drink. 

Use all the sour patch candies to make the candy kabobs.  Or mix and match and create kabobs with all the same flavors.

These easy homemade summer slushies are perfect for a hot summer day and kids will love the SOUR PATCH KIDS candy kabobs!

Ingredients

• 2 cups of cold water
• 1 Kool-Aid packet
• 1/2 cup of sugar
• 4 cups of ice

Instructions

1. Blend everything together 
2. Blend until smooth 
3. Garnish with a Sweet & Sour Candy Kabob
