Bottle Cap Necklace

Our sweet friend Kiley is turning 4 and she adores Justin Bieber...or as my cutie likes to call him Justin "Beaver" (she honestly thought he was a beaver, she was very confused when I showed her the necklaces. Oh, how I love her!)I wanted to get her a gift that was related to her interest (aka: Justin Bieber) but I couldn't find anything appropriate so I decided to make her some bottle cap necklaces with his picture. This was my first attempt at these, but it was easy and SUPER cheap (I'm … [Read more...]

Teacher Gifts

Today is the last day of school here and my sister wanted to give the teachers on her team a little gift to show her appreciation for the amazing teachers she works with. She asked me if I would come up with something and since I owe her a billion favors (and I love to make things with the Cricut) I said yes. Here is what I came up with:I picked up some tiles at the Habitat Restore for $.79 a piece and cut out the saying "Live, Laugh, Teach" in vinyl. I cut out a red apple, added some red … [Read more...]

Monogrammed Glasses

My friend Allison's sister-in-law was in town this past weekend and she saw the fun coasters I made, which sparked a conversation about my love for crafts and making things with my beloved Cricut. Later that evening she sent me a picture of some glasses she liked and wondered if I would be interested in making some for her...OF COURSE!These monogrammed wine glasses are for a bachelorette party, aren't they cute!?! They are going to be visiting some wineries and these will be the favors.I think … [Read more...]

Coasters

This weekend my hubby and I got a chance to run errands without kids so we headed to one of our favorite places to go...The Habitat Restore. Now that's my idea of a date!I am always on the hunt for a bargain and I have a laundry list of projects I want to do so the Restore is the ideal place to look for the supplies I need. I got several items I can't wait to get started on...chair rail, molding, picture frames, ect. so stay tuned!I scored 20 small tiles for $1. Now, I was supposed to be … [Read more...]

Words to Live By

I was inspired to do this project based on the Pleated Poppy's and My Backyard Eden's Family Rules.I have wanted to redo the artwork that hangs in the hallway which leads to our open Living Room & Kitchen, but knew I wasn't going to be buying anything anytime soon so this idea was perfect.Rather than make rules I decided to use words and phrases that would inspire our family...Words to Live By.My hubby took down the existing art (I forgot to take a before pic of it hanging on the wall) and … [Read more...]

St. Paddy’s Day Party

I love to throw parties and look for any excuse to have them...so I threw together a St. Paddy's Day party for some of our adorable friends. The weather was GORGEOUS so we threw down some blankets in the backyard, moved the grocery store outside, gathered up some sidewalk chalk and let everyone loose (11 kiddos to be exact). A party wouldn't be complete without tasty food so I put together some simple snacks to help celebrate.I printed the cupcake toppers from TomKat Studio and then used my … [Read more...]

Chalkboard Menu Planner

One of my goals has been to do a better job of planning our weekly menu so we avoid those last minute "I don't want to cook, we don't have anything to eat, let's just go out" moments. We are trying to eat healthier and the local drive through doesn't really fit the bill and taking a 3 year old and 1 year old twins out to a restaurant these days isn't really my idea of a good time!A few months ago I made this beauty at our monthly craft night with the intention to use it as a Menu Board, but it … [Read more...]

Magnetic Photo Frame

I first saw this idea last year while visiting my family in Utah and I immediately loved it. It has taken me a while to get around to making some, but once I did it was super easy & the results were fantastic! This was a Christmas gift for our parents.I cut the board to 12x24 and used the router to spiffy up the edges. I cut three 6x6 squares from a large piece of sheet metal (ok, my hubby did it because I wasn't strong enough!) Then I cut out the saying "Count Your Blessings" on the Cricut in … [Read more...]

Party Fit For a Princess

This past weekend we celebrated Aubrey's 3rd birthday with a Pink Princess Party. She has been talking about this party for more than six months and every time she mentioned it she made sure we knew it needed to be PINK!   I had a blast planning this party & love how it turned out, it really was a party fit for a princess. I found inspiration on the following sites, P is for Party, Celebrations at Home, Creative Hostess & Kara's Party Ideas. There are LOTS of pictures, so bare … [Read more...]

Doorway Puppet Theater

Continuation from Santa's Workshop post.Doorway Puppet TheaterI got this next gift idea from HearthSong and knew immediately this would be a perfect gift for Aubrey. I am always thrilled to find toys that don't clutter up the house (ie. take up too much room or require lots of parts) and that allow her to be creative. However, I didn't like the price or the design so I decided to make my own.It really was an easy project and it came together quickly (about 2-3 hours total) and it is completely … [Read more...]
