Everything You Need to Host a Patriotic Ice Cream Social
A fun-filled ice cream sundae party is great for kids of all ages and it’s the perfect way to stay cool when the summer temperatures rise. I’m sharing everything you need to host a Patriotic Ice Cream Social this 4th of July.
Sweet Decorations
Create the ultimate backdrop for your ice cream social with sweet decorations. Use red, white, and blue paper fans and a DIY patriotic balloon garland to create a festive backdrop for your ice cream bar. Not only does this add visual interest, but it also provides the perfect space for guests to snap photos as the party goes on.
Serve It In Style
I transformed my metallic bar cart into a cute retro-inspired ice cream cart to serve our cool treats in style. Visit Fun365 for the full tutorial on How to Style an Ice Cream Bar.
Display a list of all the flavors available so your guests can easily see the options available.
Contain It
From waffle cones to toppings you’ll need lots of containers to display everything and make it easy for guests to create their own patriotic sundaes. Use glass jars to contain the ice cream cones, patriotic bowls, and spoons for the ice cream. Don’t forget small clear containers for the toppings.
Wrap ice cream cones with patriotic wrappers, not only do these look super cute but they will help keep little hands from getting too sticky.
Two Scoops, Please
Here’s a tip: before the party starts, fill the small patriotic bowls with a variety of ice cream flavors and place them in the freezer. When it’s time for the party, put them in a cooler with dry ice to make serving guests quicker and less messy.
Tasty Toppings
Sprinkles, chocolate sauce, nuts, and cherries are standard but don’t be afraid to get creative. Include whipped cream, fresh fruit, brownies, cookies pop rocks or candy.
Use clear containers and scoops for the toppings so it’s easy for guests to identify the toppings and serve themselves.
Summer entertaining has never been easier with this patriotic ice cream social. Everyone young and old will love creating their own ice cream sundaes, ice cream floats, or making a double-decker ice cream cone.
Once everyone has had their fill of ice cream keep them entertained with a few patriotic-themed activities like a red, white and blue bomb pop pinata or a 4th of July Flag Balloon Dart Game.
