Today we celebrated Valentine’s Day with an impromptu Whoo Loves You Valentine’s Day Party. It was a gorgeous day here and we enjoyed sharing a fun treat with our friends. I have been meaning to have this party for a while, but I’ve been busy with work projects, parties and just trying to keep up with everyday life and schedules, so this morning when I woke up I decided “what the heck, just throw something together and DO IT!”
This Lil’ Hoots collection from Piggy Bank Parties is one of my favorite designs. I’ve also used it for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I knew I wanted to use it for Valentine’s Day so I asked PBP if they could revamp the design for me and despite their busy schedules they said yes. The beauty of making ordinary moments EXTRAORDINARY is you don’t have to throw an over the top party, with lots of fabulous desserts, favors and decor. All you need is a little creativity, some store bought treats and lots of fun!
For this party I made strawberry cupcakes with my kids and used store bought icing and cupcake toppers to turn them into pretty little treats. I filled a jar full of “Love Mix” (Chex Mix and valentines M&M’s.) I picked up Little Debbie cakes, strawberries and blueberries from the grocery store and headed off to the park. I added some Tootsie Pops and used a few of the owl lollipop favor boxes on a few of them.
I took my owl bean bag board (which I still need to do a tutorial on) for the kids to play with and we spent the rest of the time enjoying the afternoon with our friends.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
