Summer is officially over for us now that school is back in full swing. Before we say our final goodbye, I wanted to share this Summer Fruit-Themed Birthday Party I styled for Oriental Trading.
This summer we served up lots of fun with a fresh and vibrant fruit-inspired celebration. My daughter loves smoothies so we decided to create a fruit smoothie bar where her friends could make their own healthy and delicious smoothies.
I have always been a big fan of incorporating DIY food bars at my kids’ birthday parties. We’ve had everything from a make your own ice cream sundae station to an Italian Cream Soda bar, and a popcorn bar and they are always a big hit.
This fruit-themed smoothie bar is a refreshing idea for a bridal or baby shower, summer birthday or any summer celebration! Here are 5 simple tips to create your own stylish smoothie bar at your next celebration.
Setting Up Your Smoothie Bar
1. Build Your Own Smoothie Cart
Transform a small table into an adorable smoothie cart that will leave everyone feeling nostalgic for carefree summer days. Head to Oriental Trading to see just how easy it is to create your own DIY Fruit Smoothie Cart.
2. Add a Little Zest with Fruit-Themed Decorations
Just like any business the more attractive and fun it is, the more likely you’ll have repeat customers. Add a little zest with lots of colorful, vibrant and fun fruit themed decorations. The Tutti Frutti collection at Oriental Trading has so many cute products you’ll find lots of colorful ways to dress up your smoothie bar.
3. Invest in a Good Blender
Having a good blender will ensure that the entire party runs smoothly. A good blender should be fast and efficient. My favorite blender for making smoothies is the Blendtec Designer 625, but if you are looking for a more affordable option the Ninja Professional Countertop Blender is great for smoothies too.
4. Stock the Bar with Essentials
To ensure your smoothie station is a success be sure to stock the bar with essentials like a bucket of ice, scoops, cute party straws, fruit-themed cups, and napkins.
5. Create a Signature Smoothie Recipe
In addition to providing a variety of ingredients like milk, coconut milk, fruit juices, yogurt and a variety of fruits that guest can use to create their own smoothies be sure to create a signature smoothie recipe everyone can sample. This is a fun way to encourage everyone to try new fruits or flavor combinations. I served this bright, sweet and delicious Pineapple Dragon Fruit Smoothie at our party and it was a hit!
