As another year comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Today, I’m sharing with you a Year-In-Review printable designed just for kids!
There’s so much to do and prepare for this time of year it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. But, when things pick up this time of year, I find myself cherishing the quiet, still moments even more as they become more rare. As each year comes to an end and my kids turn another year older it seems like time speeds up. And, I find myself thinking about the past, and reflecting on another year behind us.
The kids grow so fast, and I become more and more aware of how fleeting those moments with them are when they’re young, and how valuable that time truly is!
Which is why I love closing out the year with this fun and easy Year-In-Review printable. It gives us a chance to reflect on all the great things that happened and make plans and goals for the future.
One of my favorite things is to pull out these reviews year after year and see how much has changed as the kids get older. From their handwritting to their goals, it’s so fun to see their evolution year after year.
Helping Kids Reflect on the Year’s Positives
This simple worksheet give kids a simple, structured way to look back on the good things that happened throughout the year. By focusing on positives, children practice gratitude and develop a balanced mindset, learning that even challenging years include meaningful moments worth remembering.
Encouraging Goal Setting in an Age-Appropriate Way
The goal-setting section at the bottom of the worksheet helps kids think about what they want to work toward in the coming year. Instead of overwhelming them with big resolutions, we encourage our kids to set a few realistic, kid-friendly goals related to school, friendships, hobbies, or personal growth. Writing goals down helps kids understand the idea of planning ahead and builds early skills in responsibility, motivation, and self-awareness.
Whether used at home, in classrooms, or during homeschool lessons, this year-in-review printables create meaningful conversations with your kids while reinforcing positive thinking and intentional goal setting.
