I’m back with another easy classroom Valentine idea that kids (and parents!) will love. These “You’re a Great Catch” Valentines are simple, cute, and perfect for boys to hand out in class next week—though honestly, they work for anyone who loves a fun, fish-themed Valentine.
Easy “You’re a Great Catch” Classroom Valentines Idea
A Simple Classroom Valentine That Still Feels Special
Lately, with our busy schedules, I find myself gravitating more and more toward simple Valentine ideas. Of course, the absolute easiest option would be to run to the store and grab a boxed set of valentines—but my inner craft diva just can’t bring herself to do it.
I still want something easy, affordable, and cute for my kids’ classroom valentines. When I asked my son what kind of valentines he wanted to pass out this year, he enthusiastically yelled, “Sharks!” We decided to compromise with these “You’re a Great Catch” printable Valentine tags.
How to Make “You’re a Great Catch” Valentines
Putting these valentines together couldn’t be easier:
-
Fill small clear cello bags with Swedish Fish or Goldfish
-
Staple or tape the printable “You’re a Great Catch” Valentine tag to the top
That’s it! This is one of those quick classroom Valentine ideas you can assemble in minutes.
Optional: Cute Fishing Pole Valentine Display
Because I can’t help myself, I also made paper-straw fishing poles to display our “catch.” If you want to get a little fancy, you can:
-
Use a larger cello bag
-
Add extra fish candies at the bottom
-
Include the paper straw fishing pole inside the bag
-
Attach the Valentine tag to the front
It’s a fun way to elevate the look while still keeping things simple.
Non-Candy Valentine Option & More Ideas
If you’re looking for a non-candy Valentine, you can easily swap the Swedish Fish for Goldfish crackers. It’s a great alternative for classrooms with sweet restrictions.
