When it comes to summer, I always think of luau parties! Mostly because they are bright, festive, and super easy to decorate for. And, because I love organizing parties, I am super excited about sharing easy ways to create simple luau party ideas as I stop by from my blog, The Organized Mama!
You can’t have a luau party without a bar! So why not add some flair to your bar.
Create a tiki hut by covering the bar area with gold tissue festooning. I attached the festooning using painters tape. You can either purchase the festooning, or make your own! I have a whole tutorial on my blog, The Organized Mama!
Add some color to the tiki bar by creating watermelon paper bunting to hang. I started by cutting out the green bunting using my paper cutting machine. Then I made a smaller bunting in the pink color to act as the inside of the watermelon. Finally I cut out black seeds. I folded the paper in half and glued it together after I tied fishing wire through the middle. I share a step-by-step tutorial here.
I also followed that same tutorial to create drink tags for the fruit punch and water that is at the bar.
To add some luau in your food prep, I wanted to put some pineapples on the popcorn bags. Taking green and white party bags, I used a paper cutter to cut out yellow pineapples. Then I ran the pineapples through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered them to each bag.
I feel that the easier the decorations, the better! So I found pineapples that were not ripe yet and decided to use them as decoration for the bar and food area of the simple luau party.
Our local grocery store has flowers, which I love adding to any party because it gives beautiful color! And I found spider plants from around our house to add to the luau party decor.
By adding some flair using gold festooning, watermelons, and pineapples, you can create simple luau party ideas for any event you have for the summer (or any time you want to celebrate)!
