I’m obsessed with pinwheels. Something about those little spinning things reminds me of spring. They also remind me of carefree, playful afternoons from childhood. I think they are such a whimsical and fun way to add a little flair to any event. When I stumbled on this cheerful paper craft collection from I knew right away it would make the perfect Pinwheel Party Favors!
I’m planning a Spring Fling later this month for my kids and their friends and I’m using pinwheels as my theme. I hadn’t seen anything out in the stores that inspired me, but the bright washi tapes and embellishments in the collection finally jumped started my vision! I made pinwheel party hats, customized popcorn boxes, pinwheel drink bottles and pinwheel party favors for our upcoming party.
My kit included a paper pad, an embroidery kit, an embellishment kit and letter stickers. I loved the vibrant skinny washi tape and the colorful clothespins. Bu, what I loved most is that the kit included everything I needed to make 6 sets and at just under $20 a kit that is a great deal for custom party supplies!
I used spray adhesive to make double sided paper and then used my Cricut to cut out the pinwheels. If you don’t have a cutting machine, like the totally awesome Cricut Explore, you can use my simple pinwheel tutorial. Once the pinwheels were folded and ready I used the fabric covered brads to secure them. I made a variety of sizes and colors to embellish the party hats, gumball tube and glass bottles.
The embroidery kit looked like a lot of fun and although I haven’t embroidered anything since I was about 12 years old I thought I’d give it a try to make custom tags for the popcorn boxes I made using the patterned paper and my Cricut. Once they were done I attached them to the boxes with those darling little clothespins. I die. so. cute.
If you love paper and hoard pretty embellishments like me then you’re going to want to get your hands on this popular collection. The new kits go on sale March 24th on HSN and will be available in five discounted bundles for under $20.
I’m loving how these Pinwheel Party Favors turned out…cheerful and carefree just like childhood should be!

Just darling Mariah! LOVE all of the pinwheels and I love the idea of making double-sided card stock with the spray adhesive. You are a brilliant cookie! *wink* Do you have the new Cricut Explore? Jealous. The Amy Tangerine products are sooo adorable – the colors already scream Spring and your pinwheels took it all to a new level. LOVE.
