The holiday season is quickly approaching. When it comes to hosting and entertaining during the holidays it can be a lot of work and money to entertain family and friends.
So, if you get invited to a party it’s always nice to show up with a small gift to show your gratitude. This holiday season take a personalized hostess gift under $20.
Why You Should Bring a Hostess Gift
Bringing a hostess gift is a great way to show your gratitude, and even potentially score an invite to the next event. When someone is kind enough to invite you to dinner or a holiday party, it’s always nice to return the kind gesture with a thoughtful hostess gift to thank them for their hospitality.
This doesn’t mean that the gift has to be elaborate or expensive.
How Much Should You Spend on a Hostess Gift
Hostess gifts are generally small and affordable. When it comes to how much you should spend on a hostess gift experts recommend considering the occasion and spending what you can afford. Depending on the occasion and invite I like to spend around $20-25 on a hostess gift
Typical gift ideas may include things like a bottle of wine, a candle, specialty food items like homemade bread or jams and jellies, or a potted plant.
While all those ideas are great gifts, I like to take something personalized and practical. A personalized cutting board and dish towel gift that costs less than $20 is the perfect gift to take to friends this holiday season.
Make Your Own Personalized Cutting Board Gift
With the popularity of charcuterie boards, I love this easy gift idea. Plus, your host will be able to use it all year long.
Simply start by finding a small cutting board that you can personalize. I bought a bunch of these wood cutting boards with marble a few years back when I found them on clearance and have been using them as gifts. I found these similar cutting boards with marble or an all-wood cutting board with handles that would also work.
Next, personalize your cutting board with your hostess’s name. I used my Cricut and vinyl to personalize my boards. You could also use a wood-burning kit to create a custom monogram.
Choose a patterned dish towel and fold it so that it fits on the board.
Use a beautiful ribbon to tie the towel to the board.
Add a mini cheese knife and a sprig of fresh rosemary.
Finally, attach a thank you tag to let your hostess know how grateful you are for the invite. Be sure to download the Free Printable Hostess Gift Tags.
