How to Make DIY Monster Valentine Candy Cards
Step 1
Open up Cricut Design Space and the free Monster Candy Card SVG. Place your cardstock on the standard grip mat and load it into the machine when prompted. Select the correct material and press the flashing button to start the cutting. Remove the pieces from the mat with the Cricut spatula tool.
Step 2
Once all the pieces have been cut it’s time to start putting your Monster Card together. Start by gluing the colored red and blue cardstock pieces to the white piece.
Step 3
Once you have glued the bodies together fold the monster arms on the score lines.
Step 4
Glue the heart-shaped belly onto the monster.
Step 5
Finally, glue the eyes and antennas onto the monster. Use the black fine tip pen to trace over the mouth to give it added dimension.
Step 6
Place a glue dot on the back of a mini Twix candy bar and place it in the middle of the Monster Valentine Card. Wrap the arms around the candy and secure to keep the sweet treasure in place.
Step 7
Use your Cricut and the red fine tip pen to create a handmade card that says “Have a Monstrously Fun Valentine’s Day!”
I think it’s easy to agree that these handmade cards are so cute it’s scary! I can’t wait for my kids to hand these out to their friends on Valentine’s Day.

I love this Valentine monster and would love to make it for my kids! It says the file is free, but the link takes me to a place to pay for it. Did I misunderstand?
Mariah says
Hi Jodie, I created it using artwork from Cricut Design Space. All of the elements should be included in your Cricut Design Space membership. Feel free to email me if you are still having issues with it.

This says free but when I click on the link to the SVG, it takes me to Cricut and is charging me $6.99… which is far from free!
Mariah says
The file should be free as long as you have a Cricut Design Space account and subscription.
Angela says
Darn. This is adorable. But it is not free. I am signed in and Cricut wants me to pay almost $7 for it.
Too bad.
Mariah says
Hi Angela, If you have a Cricut Access subscription for Cricut Design Space it should be free. If you have Cricut Access and it is still asking you to pay please let me know so I can help you out. Thanks!

I found your Monster Valentine card and love it. But it looks like there is a fee to use it in Design Space. Was it only free for a limited time? Or is there a code? Thanks!
