The Christmas tree is up, the decorations are finished and presents are being bought. Now it’s time to focus on my favorite part of the holiday season, the gift giving. The entire holiday season is filled with opportunities to give gifts and bring joy to others, from your office Secret Santa, your neighbors White Elephant gift exchange, and friends and family near and far. But, let’s be honest, sometimes it can all feel a little overwhelming. Luckily Hallmark at Walgreens has plenty of fun, festive and meaningful cards, ornaments and holiday gift wrap to help you spread a little holiday cheer with ease.
The holidays are laden with memories and traditions. I love being able to share these memories with my kids and pass on my favorite holiday traditions. One of my favorite holiday traditions as a kid was baking cookies with my mom and delivering them to friends and neighbors. I remember the sweet aroma of gingerbread, peppermint and chocolate filled the air, while Christmas music played in the background. I loved baking with my mom, but what I remember most was how she took the time to beautiful package up the baked goods and write a handwritten note for each recipient. Looking back I can only imagine how busy this time of year must of been for her, but what I remember most is how special she made others feel with her simple gift of baked goods.
This year I wanted to bring that same love and joy to our families holiday celebration and decided what better way to spread some cheer than with sweet treats! My kids and I baked cookies, and then headed to Walgreens to pick out the perfect cards and gift wrap for our cookies. I found the perfect gingerbread and candy cane themed cards and colorful gift wrap.
The detail on the gingerbread card was stunning and I was tempted to keep it for myself! But, I quickly remembered how much I was looking forward to giving it to friends and opened it up to write a personal note. The inside of the card said “People like you make the holidays sweet!”, which was perfect for our sweet themed gift of baked goods.
Once I had written a personal note inside all of the cards I placed them in the envelope, even that is beautiful designed too.
We packaged up our cookies and put them inside a bakery box. To me one of the best parts of receiving a gift is being able to unwrap it while anticipating what is inside. We could have left the cookies in the plain white bakery box and delivered them, but wrapping them in the colorful Hallmark gift wrap makes it way more pretty and fun! Even though our gift of baked goods is simple, just like my mom, I know that putting a little bit of effort into making it look pretty will make other feel extraordinary. You can dress up all of your holiday gifts with Hallmark gift wrap and choose from wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, ribbons, tags and tissue to make gift giving and receiving fun, exciting, surprising and personal.
My kids and I are excited about delivering these sweet treats to our friends and neighbors and hope that they feel as much joy receiving them as we do giving them.
I love that the Hallmark Signature cards feel like a special gift all by themselves, but combined with our sweet treats they are the perfect way to show our friends and neighbors just how special they are to us.
