Pink or Blue?

I am so EXCITED about this particular post…we are going to have another baby!No, not me sillies…my sister! My beautiful sister and her husband are expecting their first baby in January and everyone is thrilled for them and excited to welcome a new baby to the family. This has been killing me because I have know for quite a while now, but was sworn to secrecy until they were ready to tell everyone. She recently had a sonogram and the two of them were having a hard time keeping it a secret any longer.

We had discussed cute and creative ideas for her to tell our parents (t-shirts, fortune cookies, ect.) but on Monday morning she told me she REALLY wanted to tell them today because she couldn’t wait any longer. We happened to all be getting together for a picnic and outdoor concert that evening so I told her I would come up with something.

So at the last minute with no time to prepare this is what we did. I went to the bakery and begged them to make me some pink and blue cupcakes, they finally agreed but said they would have to use what colors they had on hand (hence the hot pink and neon blue). I made some quick little toppers with “B” for boy and “G” for girl.I printed out a cute little sign and taped it to the inside of the cupcake box.We headed out to our picnic and after everyone finished dinner we had Aubrey ask Grandma to help her get a cupcake…

Their reaction is priceless…I LOVE a good surprise and this one was perfect!Here is the beautiful mommy-to-be. She is going to be an excellent mother.Piper picked blue, doesn’t she look happy?I guess we will have to wait for a few more weeks to see which it will be…Pink or Blue?!?
