When I was growing up I dreamed of being an actress. I would put on little shows for my family and I took every opportunity to be in the spotlight. I loved watching the award shows and just knew one day I would walking the red carpet. Fast forward a few years and I may not be getting ready to walk the red carpet in Hollywood, but I’m ready to shine on the red carpet at our Oscar Party Photo Booth.
I love having friends over to watch the red carpet fashion and the Oscars. Everybody loves a photo booth, even Hollywood celebrities. Which is why this year we are adding one to our Oscar party. I partnered with Michaels to create a fun, interactive photo booth that is going to make any movie or award themed party extraordinary.
I went to Michaels to pick up some supplies and found a fun gold and white photo booth backdrop and wooden photo booth props that would be perfect for our red carpet photo booth.
First, you will need to transform your wooden photo booth props into glam accessories. To do that you’ll need to grab a few craft supplies at Michaels. Here is what you will need:
- Wooden Photo Booth Props
- Modge Podge
- Gold Glitter
- Black, Gold, and Red Paint
- Black, White and Gold Scrapbook Paper
- Foam Paint Brush
Use a foam paint brush and paint the Modge Podge on the outside rim of the glasses.
Sprinkle gold glitter on top of the Modge Podge and gently tap to remove any excess.
Next, trace the bow tie on the back of patterned black and white scrapbook paper.
Cut it out and use the Modge Podge to attach it to the wooden prop. Use a smaller paint brush to paint Modge Podge onto the middle section of the bow tie.
Sprinkle with gold glitter to complete the look.
I used a Styrofoam block covered in black wrapping paper to hold all of our fancy Oscar party photo booth props. I pulled out my DIY Metallic Bar Cart and used it to hold all of our fun photo booth props. I used my Heidi Swapp Lightbox to encourage guest to grab a prop and strike a pose.
Once the bar cart was filled with props it was time to get the red carpet ready. I hung the gold and white backdrop paper and added a metallic tassel garland and a glittery gold star garland for a pop of pizzazz. I literally rolled out the red carpet and then added a bunch of balloons to make it festive and fun.
With the prop filled bar cart nearby everyone can grab a prop and strike a pose, just like the celebrities on Oscar night.
I had my girls strut their stuff on the red carpet and pose for a few pictures. There were lots of giggles and I think it’s safe to say our Oscar Party Photo Booth is going to be an award winner on Oscar night!
Do you watch the Oscars? What are you looking forward to most on Oscar night?
Even if you don’t watch the Oscars this glam photo booth would be lots of fun for a movie themed party too. If you are looking for more movie ideas and inspiration make sure you check out these popular posts:
