Aloha! This tropical Luau Birthday Party is full of fabulous ideas for celebrating summer birthdays.
Who wouldn’t want to celebrate their birthday in paradise? For this birthday party I transformed the backyard into a special tropical paradise for the birthday girl and her 2nd birthday celebration. The beautiful backyard provided the perfect backdrop for this Luau themed party where guest enjoyed tropical goodies from custom tiki huts. A small kids table was set up near Bella’s Tiki Hut with festive pineapple cups, buckets of sand and colorful leis.
After splashing in the pool and soaking up the sun guest enjoyed dinner and lots of sweet goodies from the “Sugar Shack.” A three layer tropical cake was adorned with colorful hibiscus and the focal point of the dessert table. Cupcakes with custom fondant toppers from Love & Sugar Kisses matched the festive luau printables by The Paper Cupcake perfectly. Other sweet treats included a variety of tropical cookies from Sweet Tweets and Pina Colada cake pops and hibiscus cookies from The Hospitality Sweet. Fresh fruit and pineapple yogurt dip provided a refreshing treat for guest to enjoy after a dip in the pool.
This tropical luau birthday party was a great way to celebrate a sweet little girl and her summer birthday!

Hi Mariah,
What’s the recipe for the chocolate coconut with mini umbrella? My niece loves coconuts and she’ll freak out if I make them for her bday.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
Cherish
p.s. btw, everything is super cute!
Cherish, they are chocolate cake pops made by a local bakery. I bet you could easily make them by using a cake pop recipe and adding a little sprinkle of coconut to the top. Good luck!
Hello! Such a beautiful party! What kind of dip was in the half of pineapple and would you mind sharing the recipe? Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much Carrie! I made a fluffy fruit dip, I believe I found the recipe on Taste of Home. It’s been a while since I made it, but I remember that it had cream cheese and Cool Whip and you can’t go wrong with that combination. 🙂
