I stumbled on a new blog Positively Splendid and found this super cute idea.
The vibrant colors and the simplicity of the project caught my eye. I immediately wanted to recreate this. I looked through my stash of stuff (I didn’t want to spend any money to make this) and found some supplies that would work.
I had an 11×14 frame so my version was a little larger than what they did. I used the pattern for the carrots and just cut them a little bit bigger. I used leftover stiff felt from this project to make the carrots. For the tops I used sparkly green paper left over from Christmas projects.
My sewing machine was still out from some other projects (coming soon!) so I stitched around the carrots and tops. I then stitched around the plain white paper with a bright green thread and adhered it to some bright yellow paper.
It was a little boring so I got out my favorite craft tool, my Cricut and cut out “Happy Easter” in bright green vinyl. I also cut out some yellow flower things (from the Storybook cartridge) for the corners.
It was still missing something so I took buttons left over from my cute Owl purses and added them to the border.
Perfect! I love how simple this was to create and the extra special touch it adds to my Easter decor.
