Remember the cute Owl Knot Dresses I made for the girls? If not you can see them here. I had quite a bit of fabric left over and couldn’t decide how to use it (I can’t let it go to waste it is too cute!) Well over Spring Break I took a trip to the fabric store with my mom and saw this adorable owl purse.
They didn’t have the pattern, but I figured I could easily duplicate the look with my bright and sassy fabric. I ended up finding the simple online pattern for the basics of this purse at allpeoplequilt.com.
I gathered up my scraps of fabric and supplies (buttons, zipper, binding). I cut the scraps according to the directions and ironed on the fusible fleece the base fabric for the purse (WOW my ironing board cover is in bad shape! Looks like my next project needs to be this great tutorial from my sweet friend Jenny G.) I laid everything out and created the desired pattern, sewed everything together and finally embellished it with a cute owly face!
Once I got through the directions this whipped up fairly quickly. The second one I made took less than 30 minutes. The perfect accessory for the girls darling dresses!
Now I just have to keep myself from making one of these to go with all their outfits!
