The start of a new year always sparks the urge to purge and organizer. But, getting organized doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money or use boring old plastic storage bins. Create a colorful DIY Painted Pegboard Jewelry Organizer to organize and display all of your jewelry.
This project was inspired by all of the jewelry my daughter received for Christmas. I quickly realized she was going to need a solution for keeping track of all the new earrings and necklaces and so I create this fun and colorful display board for her room. Getting organized can be pretty and functional with a few supplies and DecoArt paint.
This month I’ve teamed up with DecoArt to show you how Americana Multi-Surface Satin paint can transform an industrial pegboard into a functional work of art. This project is super simple and you should be able to complete it in under an hour.
Supplies:
- 12 x 12 piece of pegboard
- 12″ 1×2 board
- Americana Multi-Surface Satin paint
- Shrimp, Soft Jade, Waterfront, White
- Americana Extreme Sheen Gold paint
- Paint Brushes
- Gold Spray Paint
- Pegboard Hooks
- Painters Tape
Directions:
Start by painting the pegboard with a white primer coat of paint.
Use Painters Tape to tape off your desired design.
Use the Multi-Surface Satin paint to paint the design on the pegboard.
Add a little bit of extra pizzaz by creating accent lines with the American Extreme Sheen Gold paint.
Once the paint is dry to the touch remove the Painters Tape to reveal your design.
Meanwhile, paint the 12″ board white for the shelf and spray paint the pegboard hooks gold.
Once everything is dry insert the pegboard hooks into your board. Make sure you double check that the hooks fit, otherwise you may need to drill a slightly larger hole.
Set the shelf on the pegboard hooks and add any other hooks you want to help keep your jewelry organized.
Finally, hang earrings from the holes on the pegboard.
Now you have a pretty and functional way to keep your jewelry organized. The little shelf is the perfect place to set rings, bracelets or other accessories.
This cute little board matches my daughter’s tween bedroom makeover perfectly and she’s excited to have a place to see and store all of her new jewelry.
