After the holiday season is over, I feel like I’m in limbo…do I savor the Winter? Do I jump into Spring? This year, I’m hanging on to the winter days as long as I can! Let’s embrace winter with this adorable DIY Snowman Felt Board with Cricut Maker.
My sister is a teacher and her class is learning about winter this month, and she asked if I could help her cut out some felt pieces for her classroom. I was happy to help, except I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for in Design Space, so I created my own SVG file.
Felt (white, blue, and black)
Iron On (black and red)
Download the SVG file, use code SNOW to download it free. Upload the file to Design Space and begin cutting.
Use the EasyPress 2 to apply the iron on buttons and eyes and mouth to the snowmen.
Run the large blue felt rectangle through the Creative Station and stick onto the chipboard.
Hot glue the excess blue felt onto the backside of the chipboard.
I may add chalkboard or dry erase vinyl to the back of the chipboard, so the kids can create a story for their winter scene.
Since my sister has a small class, I made several of these for her, and they were ready in no time! My sister’s class will practice their scissor skills and cut snowflakes for the felt boards too, though, you could just cut small circle snowflakes too.
I love these because they are perfect for quiet time activities, at restaurants, church, or even in the car. And, how cute would those snowmen be on a tote bag or t-shirt? Just ungroup the SVG, and hide the contours for the parts of the image you don’t want to cut out and cut out of Iron On.
