Who doesn’t love donuts? These delicious treats are still a hot trend and can be seen in everything from creative parties to DIY crafts, like this amazing donut pinata. And now I’m infusing my take on this sweet trend with a DIY Donut Party Banner.
My sweet Aubrey is turning seven this month and to celebrate we are having a Donuts & Pjs slumber party. This year we are keeping things simple, but I couldn’t resist making a few decorations and I’ll have lots of other fun DIY donut projects to share over the next few days. Part of the “keeping it simple” strategy for this party was to not spend money on decorations, which forced me to get creative with things I have.
To make the DIY Donut Party Banner you’ll need:
– Cardboard Box
– Craft Paint
– Scissors and Exact-o knife
– Twine
– Tulle
Directions:
Trace a large circle on the cardboard for the base of the donut. Next, trace a smaller circle for the center of the donut on your cardboard.
Use your craft paint and paint the icing on the donut.
After the “icing” dries use a small paint brush to add the sprinkles.
Cut out the donuts with your scissors. Next, carefully cut out the center of the donut with an Exact-o knife (or sharp craft knife)
String your donuts on twine and tie tulle between each donut to keep them from sliding around.
Mmm, doesn’t this DIY Donut Party Banner look delicious?! I love that this project cost me nothing and my daughter loved helping me paint the donuts and add the sprinkles.
I’ve got a few more fun donut projects coming, but in the mean time if you’re looking for more donut inspiration don’t forget to check out these fun posts, Apples and Donuts Back to School Party, Donut You Know You’re A Great Teacher gift, and Broomstick Party Skewers.

So cute, and doable, which is key for me. Who doesn’t love donuts? The only problem… now I’m hungry.
