I have partnered with Hobby Lobby to create this post. All ideas are 100% my own.
Wow, can you believe the holidays are already over and it’s the start of a brand new year?!? I always hate when the holiday season is over because I truly love this time of year and all the festive decorations and parties. Fortunately for me, my daughter’s birthday is just around the corner, and I’ve partnered with Hobby Lobby to bring her party vision to life. I think she has finally settled on a slumber party and decided to create a cute and simple donut-themed party for her friends to enjoy in the morning.
Donut Birthday Party Ideas
There are some things that just never seem to go out of style and a donut-themed party is a fun and simple idea that can work for kids of all ages. In fact, we’ve actually had a donut-themed party before where I made a DIY donut banner and DIY donut necklaces. But, this year I needed something cute, simple, and inexpensive. It’s no surprise I found everything I needed at Hobby Lobby, they have a huge variety of themed party decor that make it easy to create your own party perfection!
Donut Party Supplies
I adored all the donut-themed paper products I found at Hobby Lobby and thought they would make the perfect breakfast display for my daughter’s sleepover. What I love is that it cost less than $100 for all of the decorations, food, and party favors for 10 girls, and I was able to put this simple party together in under 30 minutes.
I started by creating a backdrop with a roll of light pink wrapping paper. Next, I hung a couple of colorful tassel garlands and some of the donut decorations on the backdrop.
I used the old vintage desk that I like to use sometimes as a dessert station for our parties. It’s compact and has just the right amount of space to display treats and drinks. A simple donut banner and honeycomb balls and inflatable donuts make a statement around the table and give it just the right pop of color.
Who needs cake when you can have donuts! The focal point of the treat table was a cake stand stacked with donuts. I added a few of the fun sprinkle-themed paper flags to the donuts for a little pop of color.
Next, I decorated and filled popcorn boxes with small powdered donuts and chocolate cake donuts. A carafe filled with milk and mini milk bottles are the perfect thing to help wash down all the sweets. And, seriously can we talk about how darn cute these plates and napkins are?!?
We made simple party favors for everyone to take home with them as they leave. Once again I used popcorn boxes and tied a sprinkle-themed tag and donut to each one with the girl’s names. We filled them with colorful paper shreds, candy, lip gloss, donut rings, and of course their very own tube of sprinkles! Each girl also got to take home their very own donut piñata, because I simply couldn’t resist how darn cute they were!
If you are looking for a fun and affordable party theme you simply can’t go wrong with this cute donut-themed party. For more party ideas or inspiration head to your local Hobby Lobby to find party supplies for your own extraordinary celebration.

What a cute party. Who doesn’t like donuts? I particularly love the blowup donuts.
Such a cute party theme! My kids would love it. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in hobby lobby.
My daughter would love this party theme…and the donuts! Hobby Lobby definitely does have great party supplies. Visiting from Sundays at Home party.
What a great theme party and you made it look so easy! I’d love for you to share at Let’s Party! https://themarkandjanshow.com/2018/01/10/lets-party-3/ … look forward to seeing you there!
My daughter is going nuts for your great party idea. I love the idea of turning it into a pool party!
Where did yo get the boxes the donuts are in?
Those boxes are from Oriental Trading, however, you can find similar ones at most of your local craft or party supply stores. I simply dressed them up with ribbon and mini donut charms.
