Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Party

Fall is the perfect time for enjoying an outdoor movie night, especially when it’s a Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Party & Movie Night!  It really isn’t Halloween until you’ve watch the timeless classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Our pumpkin patch popcorn bar and outdoor movie night were inspired by the fun new Peanuts Wall Decals from Name Bubbles.  I received a package of the Peanuts Costume Party Wall Decals and knew that I wanted to create a fun little party with them rather than just putting them up as decorations in the house.  I knew that having an outdoor movie would be a big hit with our kids so I set out to figure out how to incorporate the wall decals in my outdoor party.

All of your favorite Peanuts characters are featured in this adorable, removable wall decal set.  It comes with 25 decals that you can peel, stick, reposition and re-use.  Since I was thinking outside the box and using my wall decals outside I decided to peel and stick them to white foam board.  Once I had them on the foam board I cut around the outline of the image using an X-acto knife.  After they were cut out I attached them to sticks and used them to decorate our Pumpkin Patch Popcorn Bar.  My kids loved the fact that after the party was over they were able to use the wall decals to decorate their rooms for Halloween.

I think one of my favorite parts about having an outdoor movie is the concession stand, the kids think it’s pretty cool too!  I used my lemonade stand for our popcorn bar which displayed a simple variety of Peanuts inspired treats.  I ordered the Charlie Brown inspired printables from Piggy Bank Parties and love how the simple word bubbles made all of the labels extra fun.  The kids could scoop popcorn into their Charlie Brown paper bags and add mix-ins like Sally Sprinkles, Marcie M&Ms and Pig Pen Peanuts. My personalized mason jars held Lucy Lemonade and there were even Snoopy Snacks and Charlie Brown Caramel Apples.  I even had pumpkin patch cupcakes, which were just store bought cupcakes, drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with a small fondant pumpkin toppers.

Guest could even borrow a blanket from Linus to spread out and get cozy before the movie started.

One of the reasons I love having parties and entertaining is to create special memories for my kids.  I also like the idea of inspiring our friends to do the same so I put together a little “Thank You” gift so they could carry on the tradition of having a Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Party & Movie Night on their own.  I painted an old coffee can to look like a pumpkin and filled it with the It’s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown DVD, candy, a bag of microwave popcorn and of course Peppermint Paddy candy! Now our friends can take this fun event and turn it into an extraordinary family tradition full of special moments and memories.
