Wooden Pilgrim

I couldn’t decorate for Fall/Thanksgiving without having something made with a 2×4!  I had been making so many other projects with 2×4’s like my Halloween Monsters & Pumpkins that it was fitting I create something perfect for the season.  I had seen several turkey ideas, but I wanted something a little different, so I created this adorable Pilgrim to help us celebrate the Thanksgiving season.

I used 2×4’s, 2×3 and 2×2’s to create this stacked Pilgrim.  I painted and sanded everything then attached the pieces using wood glue.

After he was all pieced together I embellished his face with blush and furniture tacks for eyes which were spray painted black.   I added a silver buckle to the hat using vinyl.

Finally I added scrapbook paper and vinyl lettering for the perfect finishing touch.

This cute pilgrim can be found in my Etsy shop or if you decide to make your own please link back and share your pictures!  Happy Thanksgiving!

This post originally appeared on Giggles Galore November 2010.  He is one of my favorite fall decorations. You should make one…you’ll be thankful you did!  And if you do make one I’d love to see what you create.
