I’m always up for any excuse to have a party and hang out with friends, and with football season in full swing I’ve got plenty of opportunities. While tailgating at the game is my favorite way to root for my team, with kids and hectic schedules tailgating isn’t always a possibility. If you can’t be at the game the next best thing is to have a Tailgate Party at home and I’ve got you covered with some fun and easy Tailgate Party Ideas to make sure you “score” big with your guest!
Football food is messy, but that’s half the fun right? Other than my favorite, must-have Buffalo Chicken Dip, wings are one of our favorites to snack on while watching the game. The key to a great tailgate is having easy grab and go snacks, no one wants to be stuck in the kitchen while the game is on in the other room. If you were at the game tailgating you’d have a whole area set up right, so why not do the same thing at home. I like to set-up a simple tailgate table to keep all the snacks and food in one place.
I headed to Wal-Mart to pick up everything we needed for our party including wings, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and some cupcakes. I used my football field table runner from our Super Bowl party to lay everything out. That way during commercials everyone can come and grab their favorite snacks. I even decided to customize our wing baskets to make snacking on the Buffalo Any’Tizers bone-in-wings from Tyson easy.
These custom baskets can be held in one hand while you hold a cold drink in the other, or while your playing corn hole or ladder ball to pass the time, it is a tailgate party after all! Wings can be messy, but these custom wing basket have everything you’ll need to enjoy not only the food but watching the game.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own custom wing baskets.
- Food Safe Trays (you can purchase these on Etsy)
- Black Ink Pad
- Letter Stamps
Decide what you are going to spell out with your letter stamps, I did “Score” and “Go Team” Here’s a tip to get your letters straight, use washi tape to tape all of the letters together so they don’t move around and you can quickly stamp each basket. Press the letters into the ink pad until each letter is covered with ink.
Next, stamp the edge of the food safe tray for a custom wing basket, perfect for your tailgate party!
Now fill your custom wing baskets with delicious Buffalo Any’Tizers bone in wings, a small container of ranch, and some celery. Slip one of the individual Wet-Nap towelettes in the basket so guest can clean those messy, sticky fingers. These wipes are so handy and right now you can save fifty five cents ($.55) off any Wet-Nap product while supplies last, http://wetnap.com/coupons/.
You don’t have to actually be at the game to enjoy a good Tailgate Party, bring the fun home and set up a simple tailgate area with lots of yummy food to keep everyone full and satisfied while they cheer their favorite team on. Remember to serve easy snacks that guest can grab and get back to watching the game, just like our easy custom wing baskets.
What’s your favorite football tailgate party food?
