Fall is such a fun time of year, it’s packed with traditions, activities and change, I love it! Ever since my first visit to an apple orchard in upstate New York I’ve been obsessed with this quintessential fall tradition. Just picture it, a hayride up the hillside to rows and rows of beautiful trees filled with bright shiny red apples just begging to be picked. This month’s Cricut Design Space Star challenge is all about parties, so I thought it would be fun to share some fun and easy ideas for an Apple Picking Party.
Even if you don’t live near an apple orchard, you can still host a casual and fun fall themed apple party to celebrate this beautiful time of year. From decorations and dessert to party favors everything you need to make an ordinary fall party extraordinary can be made with the Cricut Explore. Like with most of my get together I like to keep things simple, but add a few personal touches so everyone feels special.
I found an apple image in the Cricut Design Space that I liked and used it for all of the elements of my party. I started by making some simple decor, an apple shaped banner with FALL cut out in the center and an vintage looking apple sign.
I made a smaller banner for the donut cake with the same technique as the apple banner,it’s amazing how small and precise this thing can cut.
I bought some caramel apples and added a “picked just for you” leaf. I love that the Cricut can write and cut, this feature really helps making personalized party decor a snap.
You’ll need something to wash all the sweet treats down and what else would do but some apple juice or cider? I made some cute apple straw flags for each drink. I thought these light brown striped straws I found at Micahel’s looked just like the steam of the apple so I added a little green leaf to complete the look.
My favorite part of this sweet party is the apple pie favor boxes, aren’t they cute?!? You could either individually package a slice of pie for everyone or guest could pack a slice of pie to-go, either way this custom little touch looks amazing but it’s incredibly easy to create!
No matter how big or small our parties are I like to send everyone home with a little special something. I used small notebooks, covered them with cardstock and wrote each guest name on a leaf and cut it out with the Cricut. I had some small muslin bags that I’d picked up at the Target Dollar Spot and cut out Happy Fall in iron on vinyl. I filled each bag with caramels and custom apple and fall confetti. Just look at those tiny little details that the Cricut Explore can cut!
I only spent a little over an hour designing and cutting everything out to create this simple Apple Picking Party using my Cricut Explore. I love that you can put together a fun and festive party with just a few simple elements and turn an ordinary fall afternoon into an extraordinary tradition or memory everyone will love.
