Your Easter Egg Hunt will be far out when you create these DIY shimmery galaxy Easter Eggs. Turn ordinary white eggs into a galaxy of shimmery stars with layers of paint and glitter.
When you think of Easter eggs you probably think of pretty pastels, but who says your eggs can’t be bold and mysterious. These shimmery eggs are a nod to our great wide galaxy and an easy DIY you can create with the new DecoArt Enchanted paint.
This new paint has the ability to capture dazzling effects with translucent colors that change in appearance depending on the angle of light. For the most dramatic effect pair the Enchanted paint over a darker base color or the Enchanted Ultra Black Basecoat. This shimmery color-changing paint is perfect for creating dramatic galaxy-inspired Easter eggs.

How to Make Shimmery Galaxy Easter Eggs
Start by selecting a variety of dark colors for your basecoat and begin blending the colors from darkest to lightest.
I painted the top of the egg with the Enchanted Ultra Black Basecoat and blended the dark purple to the lightest purple. Use a sponge or a dry paintbrush to blend the colors.
Once the base coat is dry brush the Enchanted Violet paint all over the egg. Set aside and let the paint dry.
Next, it’s time to add the details for your far far away galaxy. Use the Metallic Gold paint to add details around the egg that mimic the milky way or a cluster of stars.
Add even more shimmery and shine to the gold by painting clusters of the Enchanted Gold Shimmer around the egg. Finally, make your eggs sparkle by adding Galaxy Glitter paint.
The best part about creating these far-out eggs is that no two are alike and it’s virtually impossible to mess them up. Just keep blending and layering the paint until you achieve that perfect shimmery galaxy.
Hide the eggs for an Easter Egg Hunt that is out of this world, or fill a basket with shinny gold grass and put them on display. Either way these beautiful and unique Easter eggs are sure to be an intergalactic star at your Easter celebration!
