In honor of the Oscars this weekend I’m making appetizers for our party based on some of our favorite nominees. If your planning on hosting an Oscar Party you definitely want to add these “Dallas Buyers Club” Pretzel Crisps Steak Bites to your menu! They are super easy, packed full of flavor and delicious.
I love the original flat-baked Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps and always have them on hand for entertaining. They are perfect for dipping, topping and pairing ideas are virtually endless which make them perfect for parties. And with only 110 calories per serving they are made with high-quality, all-natural ingredients and contain no saturated fat, trans fat, preservatives or artificial flavorings or colors, which I really like since we are constantly trying to make healthier choices in our family. I recently discovered that they introduced new flavors including Honey Mustard & Onion, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper and Cheddar Minis and couldn’t wait to try them out.
This simple recipe was inspired by the fabulous Oscar nominated Dallas Buyers Club. I adore Matthew McConaughey and thought he was incredible in this movie and as a fellow Texas girl I thought it would be fun to make an appetizer that payed homage to our Dallas roots and the movie. In the movie Ron Woodroof finally convinces Eve to join him for dinner at a local steak restaurant so it was only fitting that we include it in our appetizer line up at our Oscar Party.
For my first version I used the Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Pretzel Crisps, spread a layer of herb goat cheese, added a thin slice of flank steak and topped it off with caramelized onions.
For the second version I topped the Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Pretzel Crisps with flank steak and guacamole.
There you have it, two easy appetizers that will definitely be winners with your guest! Who do you think will walk away with top honors for Best Film at the Oscars this Sunday?
These look delicious! What a clever idea. Thanks for sharing!
These are my go-to “chip” when I serve my spinach-artichoke dip, and now I’m obsessed with the honey mustard & onion ones!
These little pretzel crisps are my weakness! I’ve always dipped them, but topping them is such a great idea.
