And the award goes to…The Best Hostess in Town! At least that is what everyone will be saying after the awards on Sunday night. With my Oscar Party ideas you’ll have everything you need to host a winning Oscar party. From recipes, signature drinks, Oscar ballots, and Best Dressed score cards you’ll have everything you need to throw the most sought-after Oscar viewing party.
I started with a glamorous black and white color palette with pops of gold and red to bring this stylish affair to life. While everything looks regal and over the top, this Oscar Party truly is a simple event that will definitely impress your guest and fool them into thinking you spent as much time planning this soiree as a celebrity getting ready for the red carpet.
I used a black table cloth with a gold sequin runner and an Oscar worthy tassel garland from The Flair Exchange for our table. Small vases filled with red roses add a bold pop of color and sophisticated touch. Inspired by the iconic golden statue I created my own Oscar statue holding a small bouquet of roses.
If your hosting an Oscar Party you don’t need to over do it on the food. Set out a few trays of appetizers, like our creamy Pear & Gorgonzola cheese balls, Hollywood Star fruit kabobs or an antipasti platter with lots of nibbles.
Don’t forget the sweet stuff, like our Movie Star Mousse and Golden Cupcakes. To make these dessert red carpet ready I spray painted the cupcakes with Wilton’s Color Mist food spray (it is safe to eat!) and I added a DIY tuxedo to my mini dessert cups. I also sprayed almonds with the gold food spray…everything has to match, right!?!
Set up a self serve drink area for guest so they can sip in style. I used a Lucite tray from A Blissful Nest to put glasses, DIY stir sticks and a wine bottle with a custom “And the Oscar goes to…” label from Living Locurto. Watch the best and worst dressed celebs as they parade down the red carpet with your own Red Carpet Tini in hand. Or toast to good friends and fun times with a DIY tuxedo champagne flute.
The key to any good party is keeping everyone entertained. Have guest fill out an Oscars Ballot to guess who will walk away a winner, give the person with the most correct guesses a prize at the end of night. Head over to Living Locurto to download these free Oscars Ballots.
Another fun idea to keep everyone entertained as the Academy Awards play in the background is play Oscar Bingo during the commercials and between awards. Download the free printable bingo cards here.
It really is that simple to host a glamorous Oscar Party just like the stars! Watch the video from my segment with Courtney Kerr on The Broadcast to see just how easy it is to create a red carpet Oscar Party just in time for the awards on Sunday!
