I went to Canton with my mom and sister a few weeks ago and found the sweetest little chick to put in the yard.
I immediately knew that this cutie had to make an appearance at our Easter Egg Hunt party, but he couldn’t stand alone, it needed something else. I know how about some Easter eggs and a cute sign!
I had my wonderful hubby cut some eggs, like the ones I made here and then I had him cut some wood so I could make a sign.
I painted the Easter eggs and sealed them with an acrylic spray so they would hold up outside. My hubs made and attached stakes to them using some leftover trim we had in the garage.
For the sign I put my handy man to work again and had him cut 3 boards from leftover scraps we had. I just held up my hands and told him I wanted them about “this big” and he cut them, so I’m not sure what the measurements are (and I’m to lazy to go outside and measure them.)
I spray painted them with paint I already had, pink, purple and green. My husband then drilled them into a PVC pipe, another leftover from a another project.
I cut out Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter in white vinyl on my Cricut. I wanted to incorporate elements from the party design so I used my Sure Cuts a Lot software to trace the image of the bunny and chick and cut them out in vinyl.
Attach fuzzy pink pom poms and you have a super cute Easter sign for your yard.
I used the sign at our Easter party to welcome guest and now they are hanging out in our front yard. I thought about spray painting a golf ball and gluing it to the top…I think it needs something but I haven’t decided just what it is yet.
I love my new Easter yard art and technically it cost me nothing since I used only items I already had! My sister and mom keep bugging me to make them one, so I guess I’ll have to get busy and finish them before Easter. 🙂
