I partnered with Oriental Trading to style a Llama Themed Graduation Fiesta, so be sure you check it out for more ideas, products, and tutorials to make your celebration extraordinary!
Graduation Taco Bar Ideas
A taco bar is an easy way to entertain a large crowd. Here are 6 easy tips to create your own Fiesta-Themed Graduation Party everyone will “taco bout!”
Set the Tone
The Mexican culture is bursting with color, from vibrant stucco architecture to colorful Papel Picado flags, flamboyant textiles, robust cuisine, and vivid folk art. Use this inspiration and set the tone for this colorful graduation party with a Papel Picado-inspired DIY Fiesta Invitation.
Show Your Colors
When it comes to hosting a fiesta-themed party start with bright colors and create a fiesta focal point. Incorporate fringe decorations that are reminiscent of traditional piñatas layered with gold mylar “Taco Bout a Future” balloons.
A cohesive color palette will help tie everything together, don’t be afraid to use vibrant colors just be sure to stick to them and tie everything together. Don’t forget to incorporate subtle graduation touches to your fiesta decor, like the free “Congrats on Your Dip-llama” printable sign and graduation cap-wearing llama balloons.
Raise the Bar
When you think of Cinco de Mayo chips and margaritas are probably the first things that come to mind. For this celebration raise the bar and create a colorful bar cart with signature cocktails, punches, and Mexican soda.
Serve drinks in whimsical fiesta-inspired cactus cups or salt-rimmed margarita glasses. Whether you plan to make a kid-friendly Cactus Punch or a signature Spicy Mango Margarita create a self-serve bar cart where guests can help themselves and sip in style.
Make it Taco Time
Tacos aren’t just for Tuesdays! Make it Taco Time with a self-serve taco bar where guests create flavor-loaded tacos. Load up the Fiesta Fun Taco Tray from Oriental Trading with taco shells filled with meat and provide everyone’s favorite toppings in colorful guacamole bowls. Fill a large jar with chips and make sure you have lots of spicy guacamole and queso for dippin’!
Up the Fun Factor
Up the fun factor at this graduation fiesta with interactive decor like piñatas, maracas, and cactus ladder ball games. I like to use decorations that pull double duty as decor and entertainment. Wrap the cactus ladder ball game with boho pom-pom LED string lights for a fun pop of color and when your guests are ready to have some fun remove the string lights and let everyone take their turn playing this fiesta-inspired version of ladder ball.
What’s a fiesta without the traditional candy-filled piñata? You can make your own or purchase one, like this cute llama, from Oriental Trading.
Say Queso!
Capture the memories with a fiesta-inspired photo booth. Let guests grab a fiesta photo stick prop and say “Queso” for a fun party memento. Add the pictures of the graduate and their friends to the DIY Nacho Average Grad Photo Board for a memory-filled keepsake.
With these 6 simple tips, your fiesta-themed party will be a “llama” fun! Say “Ole!” to a rockin’ night and celebrate your special graduate and their “dip-llama” with a fiesta-themed graduation party!

Hi Alicia, those balloons were from Oriental Trading, they were sold as a balloon kit. But, you can buy those individual letter balloons at most party stores.
Where did you get the cute fringe decor for the background?
Thanks!
Hi Katie, the fringe backdrop is from Oriental Trading. They have several options, but if you search Fiesta you should find this one.
What is the font of the photo board? Is there a printable for that? Thank you! Your post is my inspiration for my daughter’s graduation fiesta.
Hi Christie, I used the font called Matador Regular for the word Nacho and Shoreline Script for the word Average.
