Halloween is just around the corner and we are gearing up for our party. With Halloween being on a weekend this year I thought it would be fun to host a get together with our friends before we head out trick-or-treating. Nothing too fancy, just a few Halloween treats and drinks. Of course that means we need a few festive touches to make it an extraordinary celebration. And who wouldn’t love grabbing a frosty beverage from our DIY Skeleton Drink Bucket.
This year I’ve been obsessed with decorating with skeletons. I think I have some in every room of our house, in fact you may have already seen my two favorite bony guest at our Murder Mystery Dinner Party. The other day my kids were playing with one of them and the legs popped off. It’s really no biggie (they pop right back in) but it inspired me to create this fun DIY Skeleton Drink Bucket.
Like most of my projects this is an easy one. All you need are a few supplies and your favorite beverages.
Supplies:
- Drink Bucket
- Skeleton
- Black Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Drinks
- Ice and Dry Ice (optional)
First you will need to create a Pick Your Poison label for your drink container. I used my Cricut to design a sign and cut it out in black vinyl.
Cover the vinyl with transfer tape and rub it onto the front of your drink container.
Gently peel back the transfer tape to revel the Pick Your Poison sign.
Take your skeleton and remove the legs, place it in the bucket. Add your drink and then dump in the ice to keep your drinks cool and help the skeleton stand up straight.
I love adding dry ice to my Halloween drinks or bubbly cauldrons of homemade root beer, it’s the perfect spooky touch to our skeleton drink container. However, if you are going to add the dry ice you will need to put it another container before putting it inside of the drink bucket. Also, just as a precaution I would not let the kids reach in and grab drinks from the bucket.
Set up a designated drink station for guest to help themselves to their favorite “poison.” Guest can dig in and grab their favorite drink or grab a DIY Skull Themed Halloween Cups and fill it up with our famous poison punch.
I have to admit I absolutely love how this simple little project turned out and I think it will be the perfect touch to our Halloween get together.
What do you think, would your guest love to grab a drink from this spooktacular DIY Skeleton Drink Bucket?

Hi Marivi, please send me an email and I’ll make sure you get the file.
This is SUPER AWESOME! Is there a way I can still get this cut file? I noticed this is from a year ago. LOVE the design, and Im also making a drinking bucket. Ive been trying to design my own the past hour and I’m just not in love with my fonts I have. Thank you in advance!
Hi Paige, if you will send me an email at mariah(at)gigglesgalore.net I will be happy to share the file with you.
This is amazing ! I want to try for my Halloween party!! What size skeleton and bucket did you use ?
I used a 5 ft skeleton that I found at the craft store and just took it apart to make it fit in my bucket. I’m not sure exactly on the size of the bucket but I think it’s roughly a 5 gallon bucket.
