Create a colorful DIY Rainbow Ghost Halloween Garland to add a pop of color to your Halloween decor.

Who says Halloween has to be spooky and scary?! Halloween is a magical time of year and one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. This year I’m bringing lots of joy and color to our celebrations with some rainBOO themed decorations!

I recently teamed up with Oriental Trading to create this colorful RainBOO Halloween Carnival and loved the fun pop of colors so much I decided to incorporate some of the leftover decorations into my office decor for Halloween.

In less than 15 minutes I created this colorful DIY Rainbow Ghost Halloween Garland. When combined with some of the other cute and colorful garlands I had on hand it makes a cheerful Halloween display.

How to Make Rainbow Ghost Garland

All you need are a few supplies, and 15 minutes to create your own colorful gang of ghouls.

I used the DIY Unfinished Wood Ghost Cutouts from Oriental Trading. You could also check your local craft stores for similar wood shapes.

Next, I selected a rainbow of colors in my favorite DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface paint.

I used a flat paintbrush to paint the ghost shapes. I gave each ghost two coats of paint to make sure there was even coverage.

Once the ghosts were dried I used orange Baker’s Twine to create my garland. Simply flip the ghosts over and use a small piece of strong tape to secure them to the Baker’s Twine.

Now that you have a rainbow of ghouls it’s time to create a cheerful Halloween display.

I paired my DIY Rainbow Ghosts with the rainbow accordion fold paper garland leftover from our Halloween Carnival party. Along with a colorful felt ball garland I had in my office and the super cute SO MAGICAL felt garland from Kalio Chic.

My office is already a colorful place, so I simply added in a few colorful pumpkins and my gold skeleton to complete this magical Halloween display.

Instructions

Layout your unfinished wood ghost cutouts on a paintable surface.
Add your favorite rainbow-colored DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface paint to a paint pallet.
Use a flat paintbrush to paint the ghost shapes. Give each ghost two coats of paint to ensure even coverage.
Let the painted ghosts dry.
Flip the ghost over and use a piece of strong tape to secure each ghost to the Baker's Twine to create your garland.
Hang your colorful ghost garland with a variety of other colorful garlands to create a bright and cheerful Halloween display.
