Anyone else feel like winter stretched on forever? After a fairly blah start to the new year I’m ready to for a fresh start, and craving sunshine and color! Mother nature gave us a little taste of spring the other day here in Texas with beautiful weather in the upper 70s and lots of sunshine, but this week she decided we needed another dose of the winter blues. Luckily, with this pretty DIY Hand-painted Pendant Necklace I don’t have to wait for the sun to come out to infuse a bit of color and shine into my day!
I recently teamed up with my friends at DecoArt and tried out the new matte metallic paint to create these bright colored hand painted necklaces, and I plan to keep them all organized with a pretty little metallic painted jewelry tray.
I’ve been working with DecoArt for a few years now and one of the the things I love about working with them is the opportunity to flex my creative muscles and try new things. I’ve created everything from custom home decor and custom canvas artwork to a fun story stone activity my kids can play with. I love being able to try out new products and find ways to incorporate them into my own personal style. It’s amazing what you can create with a blank canvas and a little bit of paint.
While working on this project I also discovered that my girls love being able to flex their creative muscles right along side me. Once they saw that I was making my own jewelry they were super curious and wanted to make their own necklaces too. It was fun to see their creations and even more satisfying to see how proud they were to wear their finished projects. I think this craft project is perfect for tween girls and would make a great afternoon craft or party activity.
Make sure you stop by the DecoArt blog to get a list of all of the supplies I used and the step-by-step instructions to create these matte metallic pendants and jewelry tray.
What creative projects would you make with the new DecoArt matte metallic paint?
