Halloween is almost here and I see candy in your future! Look into my DIY Halloween Crystal Ball Shaker Tag and you’ll see a future full of Halloween candy.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, especially to surprise friends with little goodies and treats. And with the possibility of no trick-or-treating this year I’m making it my goal to spread lots of cheer and candy this Halloween.
Halloween is also the perfect time to bust out all the clever puns and pair them with everything from spooky to sweet goodies. These DIY Halloween Crystal Ball Shaker tags are a fun way to brighten up someone’s day.
The other day I was browsing the Dollar Spot at Target and saw a cute Crystal Ball Halloween sign. I was inspired to create my own version with my Cricut and love how these tags turned out!
Make Projects Shine with Cricut Foil
I recently received the new Cricut Foil Transfer System and had lots of fun playing around with it. It is easy to add shine to everything from DIY signs to cards.
I knew I wanted my tag to shine so I decided to give it a little extra flair with Cricut foil.
The Cricut Foil Transfer Sheets are available in a striking array of colors. And with the 3-in-1 tool, it’s easy to create long-lasting results that glimmer and shine. Be sure to check out my tutorial for how to use the Cricut Foil Transfer System for more details.
How to Make Crystal Ball Shaker Tag
Ok, now that you know how I added a little bit of sparkle to my tags it’s time to show you how to make the crystal ball shaker tags.
Supplies:
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore cutting machine
- Standard Grip Machine Mat
- 3 in 1 Cricut Foil Transfer Tool
- Cricut Foil Transfer Sheet
- Masking Tape
- Black Kraft Board
- Black Cardstock
- White Cardstock
- Black Vinyl
- Large Plastic Eye
- Glitter or Silver Confetti
- Black and White Baker’s Twine
- Cricut TrueControl Knife
- Design Space software on mobile device or computer
- I See Candy In Your Future SVG
Open up Design Space and the I See Candy In Your Future SVG. Place the bold tip in the Foil Transfer System and insert it into the machine.
Next, place a piece of white cardstock on your mat and tape a piece of silver foil to it using the tape provided with the foil transfer sheets. Be sure not to place the tape over any part of the area where the foil will be transferred to your project or the foil won’t transfer properly.
Once the foil transfer is finished remove the tape and the foil from the project. It is important not to unload the mat from your machine at this point.
Once you have removed the foil insert the fine tip blade and finish cutting the rest of the project.
Now that you have all of the pieces cut it’s time to assemble your 3D crystal ball. Notice the sparkly shine of the foil on your cardstock!
Use transfer tape to apply the I See Candy SVG to the middle of the white cardstock.
I had a ton of these large googly eyes lying around in my craft room and knew that I could recycle them to create the top part of my crystal ball. I used the TrueControl Knife to remove the back part of the eye leaving me with the curved dome for my globe.
Fill the plastic globe with white diamond glitter and silver confetti. Use a hot glue gun to attach the plastic globe to the white piece of the crystal ball.
Finally, glue the white ball to the black base of the crystal ball
