As the weather cools down this fall there’s nothing like the warmth of a bonfire and good company. Host a Roast and Toast Fall Backyard Bonfire party and turn a crisp evening into a memorable night with friends and family.
A bonfire party is one of the easiest ways to host an intimate get-together. Gather your friends around the fire pit to roast marshmallows, toast friendships, and create extraordinary memories.
To create a cozy fall vibe for our backyard bonfire I teamed up with Oriental Trading. I used hay bales, wooden stumps, pumpkins, plaid, and cozy blankets.
I’ve put together a list of essential items you need to host your own Roast and Toast Bonfire Party.
Bonfire Party Essentials
1. Fire Pit
To create the ultimate backyard bonfire you’ll need some kind of fire pit, whether it’s a hole in the ground, a portable fire pit, a fire table, or a chiminea.
We prefer to use a wood-burning fire pit because it reminds me of camping in the woods and I love the warmth of the fire.
2. A Comfy Place to Sit
You will want to provide plenty of cozy sitting around the fire pit. Whether you ask guests to bring their own camp chairs or you rearrange your patio furniture make sure you have plenty of seats for guests.
Add to the cozy, fall vibe by incorporating a few hay bales or wooden stumps. I found the wooden stumps on the side of the road and they were perfect for this backyard party! Just be sure you cover them with blankets to make it cozy for guests.
3. Outdoor Ambiance
Create a relaxed and cozy environment by hanging outdoor lights around your fire pit area.
Don’t forget to fire up some tunes. Music is essential to any party so create a chill playlist and keep the party going all night long.
4. Food to Roast
It’s not a bonfire without s’ mores! Graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows are standard but mix things up with a s’mores station where guests can create the ultimate s’more. Add a variety of chocolates like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, different marshmallow flavors, and cookies.
5. Toasty Drinks
Create a signature drink to toast friends around the fire. Whether you want to stick with the s’mores theme and serve chocolate s’mores martinis or you want something warm like hot cider your guest will appreciate having a fun drink to toast with.
6. Cozy Blankets
Even though you’ll be gathered around the warmth of the fire don’t forget to provide lots of cozy blankets for guests to snuggle up in. Fill a basket with lots of warm blankets so guests can grab them as the evening chill sets in.
There is nothing quite like the warmth and fun of sitting around a fire to turn an autumn evening into a memorable night with friends. And the best part is this casual get-together looks like a fully planned party without all the fuss and prep work, so you can relax and enjoy an unforgettable evening with friends!
