We entertain a lot, so it should be no surprise that we are gathering our friends and throwing a Cinco de Mayo party. Any party that involves Mexican food, guacamole, refreshing beverages and friends is a win to me!
I’m sharing a few simple ideas and tasty recipes like our Rockin’ Guac Appetizers to help you turn an ordinary day in May into an Extraordinary Cinco de Mayo celebration! Like most of our parties this is a low key soiree that focuses on quick, easy and fun ideas to make hanging out with friends memorable. Because I believe that hosting a get together should be about the people and not the process!
Cinco de Mayo is typically a celebration associated with bright colors and lots of eclectic flair which is great because you can mix and match items you already have to make a festive and foolproof summer fiesta!
I used the colorful fiesta napkins and paper flowers to make a vibrant centerpiece for my patio table. A storage caddy held all of the entertaining essentials so guest didn’t have to keep going in and out to get what they needed.
I wanted our patio to feel festive, but didn’t have the time to make tons of decorations and didn’t want to spend money buying things I’d only use once. So I used succulents, bright colored napkins and the ingredients from the to decorate. I found the maracas I bought for my kids on our cruise to Mexico and used those for decorations too.
Food plays such an important part in celebrations, it can unite us and spark creative conversations and memories. But, that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated or time consuming. For our Cinco de Mayo celebration we grilled fajitas, my neighbor made her famous rice and of course there was lots of guacamole and chips. is one of my favorite new signature dips to take to parties. RO*TEL’s perfect blend of tomatoes and green chilies zests up guacamole and guests can’t stop snacking on it…so make sure you make an extra large batch! I put my kids’ lemonade stand on the back porch and set it up with all the fixings for our fajita buffet so guests could help themselves.
Nothing beats sitting around with friends enjoying good food, refreshing beverages and endless laughter. This is where memories are made. Food and friends are the perfect combination for turning an ordinary weekend into an extraordinary event, just like and Bud Light Lime-A-Ritas are the perfect combo for celebrations!
So what are you waiting for? Zest up your fiesta with RO*TEL’s Rockin’ Guac and Bud Light’s Lime-A-Rita and host a Cinco de Mayo Party your friends won’t forget!
