Do you have big plans for the holidays? I love entertaining friends and family during this time of year and have several events including our annual Favorite Things Party, Christmas Eve dinner and our New Year’s Eve party to plan for. Fortunately, I have a “go-to” solution for making creative and delicious dishes that will transform the ordinary into EXTRAORDINARY! Thanks to today’s sponsor,, I’m going to share my entertaining secret and these delicious recipe for Chocolate Caramel Puff Pastry Bites with you so you too can transform your ordinary events into extraordinary memories that will have everyone talking!
You may be asking what makes my “go-to” solution? It fits with my philosophy that entertaining should be easy and fuss free. Whether you are making something sweet or savory the Puff Pastry sheets or cups with their delicious flaky layers give you a wide rang of versatility to make appetizers, dessert and main dishes for every occasion
I recently hosted my annual Favorite Things Party and everyone was asked to bring their favorite appetizer or dessert. I couldn’t resist creating these tasty little bites that combine two of my favorite things, chocolate and caramel! These little ooey gooey morsels are so easy to make and would also be a great recipe to let the kids help with too.
All you need are a few ingredients, 20 minutes and hungry guest with a sweet tooth. You will need: Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Cups, Rolo candy, caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream
Start by thawing out the pastry cups for about 10-15 minutes. Once the cups are thawed you will need to separate them and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
Brush each pastry cup with an egg wash (1 egg whisked with 2 tbsp water) to give it a nice golden shiny glaze when cooked.
Bake the pastry cups for 18-20 minutes or until flaky and golden brown. is similar to pie pastry, but the dough is folded multiple times to create layers. So when you bake them the steam makes the layers rise about 8 times higher for the that delicious, light and flaky shell.
While the pastry cups are baking unwrap the Rolo candy.
Immediately remove them from the oven and push the center of the pastry cup in with the back of a wooden spoon. Next, insert the Rolo candy into the center of each pastry cup.
Put your warm Chocolate Caramel Puff Pastry Bites into a shallow serving dish and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with warm caramel topping for an easy and delicious dessert everyone will love!
You can make these tasty little bites for all of your holiday parties, and even use them throughout the year. You can guarantee that these extraordinary little desserts will be making an appearance again at our New Year’s Eve party…I’m certain my guest won’t mind. 🙂
Speaking of New Year’s Eve, I recently had the privilege of hosting an event with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry where we sampled lots of yummy appetizers and desserts made with puff pastry sheets and cups. Some of my favorites were the Prosciutto Asparagus Spirals, Creamy Mushroom Tarts and Brie en Croute.
I can’t wait to host our New Year’s Eve party and serve all of these recipes. If you’re planning on hosting a New Year’s Eve event make sure you check out all of the recipes and ideas on the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry website to turn your ordinary celebration into an EXTRAORDINARY start to 2015!

I LOVE puff pastry! Do you remember making Napoleans and those great Chicken ala King filled pastries when you were a little girl? This likes a yummy easy way to use the mini shells. You can bet this will be part of our holiday goodie collection.

I forgot about the Chicken ala King pastries, those were so good! I need the recipe for that. 🙂
Jennie says
Do you think you could make these ahead of time? Would the Rolos melt into the pastry?
Mariah says
Yes, you can make them ahead of time. But, they do taste best warm so you could pop them in the oven for 1-2 minutes right before serving.

Love the look of these. Not sure we have the same puff pastry cases over here, but I can easily amend with rolls of puff pastry.

Does Puff Pastry have any recipe book dealing with their application? I’ve done some experimenting with satisfactory results but certainly cooks with more experience have some better ideas.
Thank you.

Your post is lovely, the food items look very inviting and I’m sure they are delicious as well. I wonder if you could tell me where you purchased the black and white striped boxes/plates. They are so fantastic for a dessert presentation like this. I would really like to steal your presentation idea! Well done!

Thanks Meg, they are absolutely delicious too! I picked up the black and white striped trays from an online shop on Etsy, The Party Fairy.
