I adore Valentine’s Day so when my sweet friend Rebekah from A Blissful Nest proposed the idea of styling and hosting a “Call Me Maybe Valentine’s Party” I simply couldn’t resist! We teamed up and together created a pretty and playful party with the catchy song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen as our inspiration.
Rebekah from A Blissful Nest designed the party printables featuring a gold vintage rotary phone and a pink and teal ombre design. We pulled together our resources, whipped out some crafty DIY projects and styled a simple and fun Valentine’s party for the kids.
The dessert table featured store bought cupcakes dressed up with telephone fondant toppers from Edible Details, macaroons from a local bakery, cake pops from Goods by kCreative, candy and strawberry milk. Giant balloons were dressed up with gold streamers, DIY tassels and glittery paper hearts. We placed them on each side of the dessert table for a whimsical touch. The gorgeous and very tasty heart shaped cake pops sat on a small table with a vintage phone that was spray painted gold.
Keeping with the “call me” theme we made DIY tin can phones spray painted to match the party and watched the kids giggles with delight as they listened to each other chatter in the “phones.” For another fun activity we had them play the old school “telephone game” where they whispered messages to each other. The vintage phones were a big hit (don’t you just love that gold phone!) and kept the kids entertained as well.
After a fun afternoon of playing, sweets and lots of giggles everyone went home with a pretty party favor, gold topped gumball tubes.
This party was definitely EXTRAORDINARY and I loved working with Rebekah planning and styling this original theme. There were so many fun details, but I think my favorite part were the giant balloons with the DIY tassels and those amazing heart shaped cake pops. Your turn, what was your favorite detail from our Call Me Maybe Valentine’s Party?
