This Vintage County Fair Party was put together for a church group back in July. The women were gathering for fellowship, food and a county fair craft bizarre and wanted to spruce up the meeting space.
I used these amazing paper Ferris Wheels as the focal point and inspiration for the event. My friend Elayne spent hours putting these together, but they were so incredible and served as fantastic centerpieces. I filled each little car with candy and placed small favor bags on the tables so guest could fill them up with goodies and take home. I arranged sunflowers in mason jars and peanuts in paper bags and buckets to complete the table centerpieces.
I used vintage finds from my stash and borrowed items to create the rest of the decorations. Pennants, pom poms, paper rosettes and american flags from my party supplies were used to create focal points for the speaker, the craft/handmade booth and the table with party favors and door prizes. Each place setting had a napkin tied with a ticket, which served as their entry for the door prize. I set the wooden lemonade stand up and used mason jars to serve as the drink station. And simple and individually sized portions of pork sliders, brisket sliders, watermelon salad, potato salad and baked beans were served.
Remember if you are putting together a budget event for a large group focus on a few main areas to create a stunning focal point and keep things simple.
