The holidays are here and it’s time to start thinking about all those parties and holiday meals. Whether you are hosting or simply attending the party it’s always good to have a show-stopper dish that will have everyone clamoring for the recipe. I can’t imagine a holiday party with out my mouth-watering Sausage Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer, this is one of those recipes that will take the party from ordinary to extraordinary!
I absolutely love this time of year because of all the opportunities to entertain and host parties for my friends and family. But, if entertaining isn’t your thing and the mere thought of planning and hosting an event stresses you out never fear I have you covered with an amazing recipe that is guaranteed to take your celebration from “Good to Great” leaving you more time to create memorable holiday moments!
The best part is this recipe is so easy to make! With just a few key ingredients from Walmart you are well on your way to creating a yummy holiday appetizer. These flavor packed appetizers get their kick from the original Jimmy Dean® Sausage, found in the refrigerated section.
Remember when we said these appetizers were super easy? They’re easy peasy and just a few simple steps. Start by cleaning the mushrooms with a damp cloth.
Remove the stem from the mushroom caps.
Brown the Jimmy Dean Sausage in a skillet on the stove top until it reaches 170 degrees. Once thoroughly cooked, drain the grease and dump the sausage into a bowl with the cream cheese.
Add the minced garlic and mix everything together. While these are delicious just like this, you can also vary things up by adding chopped spinach and artichokes.
Fill the mushroom caps with the cream cheese sausage mixture.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake until golden brown and bubbly.
We think stuffed mushrooms are the perfect party appetizer because of the great layer of flavors that can be changed up in a variety of ways to make them just right for your crowd.
That’s right, these hand-held, delicious edible vessels are going to be the hit at your next party! Just make sure you make plenty, because these little morsels are know for quickly disappearing!

Can I make these ahead? Can they go into the refrigerator?
Mariah says
Yes, you can make the filling ahead of time and fill the mushroom caps and put them in the refrigerator until you are ready for them. Just pop them in the oven when you are ready to serve them, you may need to add a few extra minutes to make sure they get warmed all the way through. 🙂
