Simple Ice Cream Party DIY

Y’all, summer is around the corner, and I am so thrilled! Summer days are best spent in the pool, reading good books, and having parties with friends! I know, you might be thinking, parties are a lot of work, and summers are hot…and no one wants to do a lot of work when it’s hot. But, I have a sweet little party hack to share! I am so excited to share this Simple Ice Cream Party DIY with you today!

My kids love when we host Ice Cream Parties! Since my guys are older now, I can typically set up a small dessert table inside the house, and toss the kids outside with an ice cream maker and let them have fun creating their own ice cream, while they swim in the pool!

Cricut recently released their long awaited Knife Blade for the Maker. It is everything I hoped it would be and more! I have made so many fun things with Cricut Chipboard and the Knife Blade, but, by far my favorite projects are the cake stands I have made!

Simple Ice Cream Party DIY:

To make these darling Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Stands, you will need:

Cricut Maker

Knife Blade

Design Space Access

Cricut Pen

Cricut Chipboard {1 sheet makes 3 Cupcake Stands}

Snow Ball Cupcake Treats

Open Design Space, and choose the Ice Cream Cake Cone. {Get my cute file here} Size it to fit your cupcakes. If you use the Snow Ball Cupcakes, I have sized it to fit already. Ungroup the image, and delete the ice cream portion. Slice the top and bottom of the cone to create a flat top and base. Copy and paste a second cone.

Create two rectangles that are half as tall as the image, and 0.08” wide. Using the alignment tool, align the rectangle at the top center of one cone, and the bottom center of the other. Slice the rectangles from the cones.

Create one circle as large as the top of the cone is wide.

Attach the pen drawn image to the cones.

Send the image to cut. I use 2 MM Cricut Chipboard, and my Knife Blade to create cake stands. Before you can cut chipboard, you have to move the star wheels to the power button side of the Maker. I was able to fit 3 cupcake stands on one sheet of 11×11” chipboard, and it took just about an hour to cut them. {Don’t forget to use masking tape or painters tape around the edge of your chipboard to help hold it firmly in place.}

Once they are cut, assemble them, and top with pink Snow Ball Cupcakes, and you have ADORABLE cupcake stands, with no baking, and very little assembly! These would be adorable Ice Cream Party Favors too, just put the whole thing in a cello bag and tie with a cute little ribbon.
