Little girls love princess parties, and mine certainly are no exception to the rule, however an ordinary princess party simply wouldn’t do for my daughter…she wanted a Peacock Princess party.
And of course, I said yes! She was obsessed with a peacock costume she had gotten around Halloween and even though her birthday wasn’t until Jan, she insisted on a peacock party and I simply couldn’t resist. I liked the idea of having a unique theme that was posh enough for my fancy 5 year old, but also fun and sassy enough to match her bubbly personality. I took her ideas, searched Pinterest and planned a Posh Peacock style afternoon tea for her royal highness and her friends.
Guest were invited to help celebrate Princess Aubrey’s 5th birthday with beautiful invitations from Whimsical Printables. I added a peacock feather, ribbon and jewels to each invitation for an extra special touch and loved how they turned out.
Once guest arrived they were shown to their seats and settled in for an elegant afternoon.
Guest could order tasty treats from the menu, like the Tasty Tea Sandwiches, Charming Chocolate Mousse and Posh Peacock Punch. I kept the food simple, but added extra special touches like the chocolate A’s on the cheesecake bites and the dainty little forks with turkey roll-ups.
Everyone received a goody bag with supplies to decorate their own masquerade masks and then they showed them off in the Peacock Parade. My daughter loves playing games and suggested we play Pin the Feather on the Peacock, it was lots of fun and the kids waited patiently in line for their chance to make the peacock fancy.
My sweet princess really wanted a cake for her birthday, but she also saw a picture of cupcakes I had pinned on Pinterest and pleaded to have both. Thankfully, my mom agreed to make both and did a beautiful job. The cake was one of my favorite things about this party, it was simple, elegant and delicious! And for a sweet ending to a fun party, everyone went home with their very own fancy peacock cookie from Sugarlily Cookie Company.
A perfect Peacock Party for my sweet princess, Happy Birthday Aubrey!

Great job. My daughter would love this. She has been a peacock princess for 2 halloweens!
My daughter and I absolutely love this idea! Where did you purchase all of the peacock feathers??
Hi Tina, I was lucky and a friend of my sister's had a peacock themed wedding and had LOTS of leftovers she let me have. However, I did purchase a few…I bought some long single stem feathers and a package of small feathers (I used in the chocolate mousse)at Hobby Lobby. They can be expensive so wait for a sale or use a coupon! 🙂
My daughter and I absolutely love this idea! Where did you purchase all of the peacock feathers??
Love how creatively and cleverly you glammed up even simple items to suit the fancy theme! It came off beautifully!

All I can say is wow!! What an amazing party! When my girls saw it they it were so excited because they decided thats what they want for their upcoming 6th birthday! Thank you for the great inspiration! I just have a quick question, can you share pictures or some detail about how you set up for pin the feather on the peacock game? I'm also trying to figure out some activities for younger and older kids to accommodate the cousins. Would appreciate some pointers!!
@TheBraleys thank you for the sweet comment, I love that your girls want to have they same theme for their upcoming birthday. I drew a simple image of a peacock with feathers and left one space blank (which is where they were trying to “pin” their feather. I used long peacock feather with double stick foam tape to make it stick to the board. I would be happy to send you pictures just send me an email or post a message on FB.
@Mariah, Thank you! I sent you an email 🙂
What an awesome party!! I decided to go with peacock theme for my baby girl's first birthday. Where did you get the goody bags?
Hi! I made the goody bags using a brown lunch sacks, peacock feather stamp and a scallop punch from Hobby Lobby. Hope that helps!
Wow.. you made them by yourself. i am not a crafty person, but the tools you used making me tempted to give it a try. Thanks again
Also, if you do not mind helping me one more time, i am looking for peacock place card holders like this one
http://www.partycity.com/product/jungle+animal+place+card+holders+4pc.do?sortby=ourPicks&pp=60&size=all&navSet=116320
But i could not find one with peacock.

Latha, you would be surprised at how easy there were to make, give it a try!
I'm did a quick search and found these place card holders, but not sure if this is what you are looking for or in your budget. http://ow.ly/auRVa
I've also seen origami peacocks used as place card holders, you may give that a try. Good luck planning your party, I'd love to see it when you are done!
Origami peacocks!!that sounds like a plan.I subscribed to your posts on facebook. Sure i will share the party pictures. Her birthday is on June 21st.
Hi Mariah, just wanted to see if you got my email about the pin the peacock game pic?

What an Awesome Party!! I'm planning on a peacock theme for my daugter's birthday. She is facinated with anything peacock right now. I would love to know where did you get the peacock cupcakes?
Love Everything! Can you tell me where did you get the peacock cupcakes??
Lupe, my mom made the peacock cupcakes with icing and fondant. I am sure you can find someone that can help you recreate them, Edible Details does great fondant work if you think you could do the icing part. 🙂 Good luck, can't wait to see your daughter's party!
Hopefully you can help me. I love the look of the tulle backdrop and would like to use it for next Sat. June 30th. How did you secure it at the top and bottom? Would appreciate any help!!! Thanks
Wow! That is one lucky little girl! My daughters are flower girls at an upcoming peacock inspired wedding. I would love to know where you got your daughter's dress from?
Beautiful! I'm definitely borrowing some of these ideas!
Love love love every detail! How did you make the tulle fabric back drop? How many yards of fabric? How did you secure it to the wall?
Nagi, thanks for the comment. I used tulle fabric and bought 2 yards of each color, cut it in half, bunched it together and tied it with a rubber band at the top. Then I hung it on a nail and fanned it out. Hope that helps!
You lucky girl…… I’ll love to have that party
I love this! Everything is so beautiful! I am planning a princess party for my daughter’s 4th birthday and it’s been so much fun! Can you tell me where you got that beautiful cake stand?
Thank you Jillian! That cake stand is from Pier One, the ruffled cake stand and I believe they still sell them. Good luck with your daughter’s party!
Everything was just PERFECT!! What a lucky little girl! I’m planning a Masqurde Ball for my 10 year old. I want to have a DIY activity for the masks. Where did you buy the actual masks from?
Thank you! I found the masks at the Dollar Tree, they were part of their Mardi Gras stuff but you might be able to find them now that it is Halloween. Good luck and have fun planning your daughter’s party!
I am thinking to do peacock theme party after seeing your gorgeous decor:-) ,back drop was awesome how many yards does it require for the whole backsetting ,I bought 15 yards of all blue and green colour of each yard 6 incjea width ,Is it ok with these material
Thank you, it is one of my favorite parties. I bought 5 or 6 yards of each color, but it was 36 inches wide. I am sure you will have plenty with what you have, just fan it out more if you need to make it look fuller. Good luck planning your party!
Mariah,
GORGEOUS!!! You thought of everything from the beautiful decor to the masks.
I bet it was a magical day for everyone. How fun.
Cheers,
Marie

I love your theme and how you presented it!
I have a question: i love the rolls on the forks. Where did you put the forks in, so that they stand up?
Thanks Wendy! I found the mini forks and a tray that they stand in at Hobby Lobby several years back. I’m not sure if you can still find them, but if not another great way to make them stand would be to use a block of floral foam (you can get it at the Dollar Store) cover it with coordinating paper for your parties them and then poke the forks down in it to make them stand up.
So beautfiul…….such attention to detail for this party. I’m impressed!
