Are you looking for a fun idea to celebrate mom this Mother’s Day? Why not host a Mother’s Day Brunch with an interactive Bagel Bar.
Interactive food stations or tables are going to be a hot trend this year in parties large and small. While the popular “dessert table” will continue to have a big presence at parties, these new food bars allow you to get creative and offer your guest an “experience” they are sure to love!
This year for Mother’s Day I decided to take one of my favorite traditions, brunch and put a new spin on it with a pretty pink and orange Bagel Bar. Inspired by polka dot wrapping paper and a gift bag in the dollar section at Target I created this cheerful Mother’s Day party. I set up a simple table on the patio outside. I used sheer orange curtains from my daughters room to soften the space and create a backdrop, but I love how the flowers from the garden added natural beauty and the perfect pop of pink.
Brunch was simple, but everyone (kids and grown-ups) enjoyed the make your own aspect. There was something for everyone. I offered blueberry, cinnamon swirl and plain bagels from Thomas’ as well as whole wheat English Muffins. I put out my fancy orange toaster so guest could toast their bagels if they wanted. Guest were encouraged to jazz up their bagel with a variety of toppings including three different kinds of cream cheese, peanut butter, ginger honey, fruit, prosciutto and veggies. Along with the “make your own” bagels I served yogurt parfaits, mini cream puffs, mini eclairs orange juice and milk.
There were so many tasty options and it was fun to try a few different flavor combinations. My favorite was the mini plain bagels with garden vegetable cream cheese and prosciutto, yum!
The simplicity of this Mother’s Day Brunch and Bagel Bar was perfect and allowed everyone, including me as the host, to sit and enjoy the company of some of my favorite women. This interactive bagel bar could also be fun for a brunch, luncheon, shower, or picnic.
What do you think, could you see yourself hosting an interactive food bar at your next party? What type of “bar” would you have?
