Transform your next Trunk or Treat into a spine-chilling Haunted Ghost Town Trunk or Treat! This creative theme combines the fun of trick-or-treating with the eerie atmosphere of an old, abandoned ghost town filled with haunted history and spooky guests.
Our family has been participating in community Trunk-or-treat events for years, and it’s one of my favorite Halloween activities. When it comes to decorating our trunk for this event I firmly believe more is more! Over the past few years, my over-the-top trunk-or-treat decor has even caught the attention of editors and has been published in Better Homes and Garden, Rachel Ray Magazine, and Country Living.
This year, I wanted to create something classic with a spooky twist. I can’t think of anything more classic than an iconic old West town and cowboys.
What is a Trunk or Treat?
A “trunk or treat” is a community event where participants decorate the trunks of their cars and distribute candy to children. Typically held in safe, central locations such as school parking lots or church grounds, this event offers a fun and secure alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating.
How Trunk or Treat Works
Participants park their vehicles in a designated area and open their decorated trunks, featuring Halloween themes and decorations. Children walk from car to car, collecting candy and enjoying the creative decorations.
Of course, you can keep things simple, but choosing a theme and transforming your trunk into a show-stopping and engaging trunk is not only fun it’s easier than you think! A key to a successful trunk-or-treat is having interactive elements that the kids can enjoy. Whether you are having them walk the plank at a Pirate-themed trunk-or-treat or ordering donuts from a Dungeon Donuts Trunk or Treat kids love getting to be a part of the fun.
