Anyone else a huge Harry Potter Fan, like me (The Organized Mama)?? I’m a huge fan and that movie always make me think of Halloween!
I have been trying to figure out the best way to make Harry Potter inspired Halloween wood signs for a few years now. None of them have turned out how I had envisioned in my mind, until now!
Materials
- Wood Arrows
- Black and White Spray Paint
- White, Black and Blue Cardstock
- Cricut Maker
- Mod Podge
- Glitter
- Xyron Creative Station with Permanent Adhesive Refill
Step 1:
Paint your wood arrows in black or white spray paint. I made four signs, so two were white and two were black.
Step 2:
Cut out letters of the different wizarding schools using your Cricut Maker! (I just got mine and was super excited to use it on this project)
For Hogwarts, I downloaded the font Harry P from dafont.com
Two other schools (Durmstang and Beauxbatons) were from the book/movie Goblet of Fire. The girls in the movie wore blue, so I cut out the letters in blue paper. The boys were bigger, so I used the font Impact.
Ilvermony is the American version of Hogwarts. It is from the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them!
Step 3:
Run the letters of one school through your Xyron Creative Station with the permanent adhesive refill. Rub the paper before removing the clear, top.
Adhere the letters to one spray painted arrow.
Step 4:
Cover the letters with Mod Podge. Then sprinkle with glitter.
Step 5:
Repeat for all four schools.
Step 6:
Once all the signs have dried, add them to a grapevine wreath; attach to ribbon and hang; or just use to decorate around the home!
For the girls school, Beauxbatons, I covered the entire arrow with Mod Podge and glittered the entire thing. I just felt that school needed some sparkle.
For Durmstrang, I did not add any glitter but did add Mod Podge to the entire arrow. They didn’t really seem like the sparkly type of school if you remember from the books/movie!
I just love how easy, yet adorable these Harry Potter inspired Halloween wood signs turned out! They are the perfect addition to any HP lovers Halloween decor!

I love all things Harry Potter, so this is wonderful. I like that Beauxbatons has all the glitter!

That’s brilliant. I agree, Durmstrang does NOT seem like a glitter kind of school!
